OVERVIEW

Defeat the gunk factor!

Gauges 10-12-16-23-10.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Polyweb Banjo Strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

FEATURES
  • Gauges 10-12-16-23-10
  • Banjo strings constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire
  • Played for their rich, golden tone
  • Original POLYWEB Coating provides a slick, fast feel that keeps the strings from getting in the way of playing
  • Patented coating technology protects against common corrosion, extending tone life longer than any other brand’s coated or uncoated strings (Elixir Strings player survey)
  • Coating also reduces finger squeak

Get more mileage from your strings! Order a set of Elixirs today!

On my 12" wood rim clawhammer banjo the Elixirs work better than anything else I've tried. Good tone and easy to play, not overly stiff. The biggest plus is the coated 4th string, which is much much easier on my nails.

Comments about Elixir Banjo Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Medium (.010-.010):

I got these because my previous strings were not in-tune up the neck after only 6 months of moderate playing. (I capo a lot) These strings sound good and feel very smooth on the fingerpicks. I just got them a week ago so I don't know about their longevity but they feel durable. I'll wait a few months to see if they deliver on the "3-5x longer" claim.

Comments about Elixir Banjo Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Medium (.010-.010):

I would prefer the light to the medium but I wanted to make sure they didn't break. Great sound and durable. I put elixirs on all by stringed instruments and was glad to see they had banjo strings. Everyone should try elixers at least once.

I'll let you know after I string up. I have used Elixir before, though, and they are good strings.

Comments about Elixir Banjo Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Medium (.010-.010):

I put these strings on my old Alvarez back in December and they still sound the same as when they were brand new! Every time I play my banjo, I'm surprised at how much life and volume comes from the strings, considering that they are 8 months old! They may be more expensive than your standard strings but they last way longer. Plus, the sound is clear, without any ringing that you get from some strings. These strings are definately worth the extra few bucks!

I have tried many types of banjo strings. These by far surpass all of them. They have an amazing sound and long life. These strings are undoubtedly worth the price.

after going thru so many boxes of light and medium strings i have finally found a set that blowed me away with RICH bluegrass sound. they tune easy and hold the tune. they are well worth the money and they also do not tear up the tips of your chording fingers. Well done Elixer
