I love these strings. They produce great tone, they are very playable and fast, and the Polyweb coating is a very cool feature. The main problem I have is that on parts of the strings, my coating is starting to peel. I am by no means a shredder on my acoustic, nor do I play hard rock in any of its forms. Part of the peeling is near where I strum, which is somewhat understandable, but the other place is at the second fret on my A-string. The strings still produce good sound, but this is an eyesore and a fingersore, too. I recommend these strings to someone who doesn't play too often, or too fast, but I am willing to bet that that demographic is not represented in great number of users on this website.

I am the youth worship leader at my church. After reading a review on the strings I thought I would give them a try. I practice several times a week to get ready for Sunday, by no means am I a shreader or a string killer. I usualy use the Musicians friend brand and have had no real complaints other than they tarnish quickly and they don't last long but what strings do on an acoustic? Though I have yet to have any "peeling" as mentioned in other reviews I did notice that the poly web makes the strings thicker which is just more for my clumbsey fingers to buzz on. They do however do seem to last longer. I am still trying to kill the strings so that I can put a new set on, which shouldnt be much longer. For the money I could have bought several sets of other name brand quality strings. Not realy worth the extra money for the coating, I think I'll try some bronze strings next. Don't waist your money.

Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These Elixir strings are absolutely the best acoustic strings I have ever played. I just put a set of Custom Lights on my new Washburn, and what a difference! They're both bright and punchy at the same time. I also have a set of Elixir Mediums on my Ovation, and I think I'll change them to these Custom Lights. They're a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. I will never use another kind of acoustic string again.

I have used elixir strings on my acoustic forever and just recently started using them on my electrics. For acoustic guitar they will give you the best out of any string ive heard and they do last a good while. these are well worth the money. Why do you think Taylor guitars come with elixirs? Because they are terrible? LOL!
Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I am a string killer. Every type of string goes 'dead' instantly. I generate a lot of friction, and usually coat my strings with crud in one gig, sometimes in the first set. Elixirs (custom light) last a month and a half sometimes more. The tone is maintained, they stay in tune, and they don't build up crud!! It's either change a 4-6 dollar set once or twice a week, or a 12 dollar set once every month. You're saving money, and getting a product you'll like a lot more.
Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Try a set of these Elixirs, you WILL hear the difference. The Custom Lights are balanced a little better between the 2nd and 3rd strings.Elixir's are what all the 'young guns' in Music City Play.
Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
The poly coating is way too thick and makes the strings feel oily. Then, it begins to peel, not wear down but, PEEL!!! Which makes them completely unbearable and leaves dust on the guitar. There are much better coated strings on the market. My favorites are DR EXTRA LIFE.
Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I received a set of these a a Christmas gift from my brother. Elixirs are the only strings he'll use. I can see why! Amazing sound, so easy to fret...much more comfortable to play. The only thing that could please me more is for them to last as long as I've heard they will. Without a doubt, these are the only string I plan to buy...EVER
Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
My first experience with these string was on an Alvarez pawn shop guitar. Immediately I loved the silky smooth feel and the slightly darker/mellow tone I heard. It was at that moment that I knew it was time to replace the Martin strings that came standard on my Rogue Grand Concert. With a fresh set of these on the little Rogue sounds and feels like a much more expensive instrument. My only complaint about these strings, like most cheap skates, is the price. If they sound this great for an extended period of time then they are well worth it. Your fingers and your ears will thank you.

Comments about Elixir Custom Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I have a lower end fender acoustic which I keep always on a stand (tuned down a half step) -catch my playing time when I can. This set-up requires lighter strings with frequent changing to get a sound and feel I want (until now). These strings have been great in all areas other than price but well worth the extra $. Even less frequent players pickup my guitar and comment (un-prompted) that the strings feel/sound great.
