OVERVIEW

A solution to gunky strings!

Gauges 10-14-23-30-39-47.

Enjoy the playing ease of an electric guitar with great note-bending ability. Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years. And they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what guitar you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

Try a set on your acoustic. We guarantee you'll be pleased.

I'm only giving them a 9 because I think the Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze strings are a better string .
For clear bell like tones the polyweb is the way to fly. I would rather spend the extra few bucks and buy the Elixir strings and sound my best (I need all the help I can get!). I just picked up a custom made custom inlayed guitar and these are the strings that are on it. I was going to switch them out with the nanoweb phosphor bronze strings but then I listened to the clear unamplified sound of the strings and it was so sweet. I figured I could wait to change strings until these wear out. Good strings. Good choice. Step up too the plate and get 'em.
These strings last for more than two months which I find to be true accross the board with Elixxir strings. The best the competition can do is about a month. Good strings. Good choice. Get 'em!
What more can I say, they last a long time Which means in the long run they are cheper to own.

i donno if this really is long lasting...i used martin SP before i tried the elixirs. I was told how CRAZY these strings were and longetivity of it. I gotta admit that there's something different about these strings and they seem to be better, but i've broken more than 10 strings for the past 2weeks i played. I RARELY broke my martins...i'm getting doubts on these elixirs..

I am picking the guitar backup after 15 years and needed something easy on my fingers. After reading previous review I decided to give these a try and I am pleased with the results in feel and sound quality.

Comments about Elixir Extra Light Polyweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:

No surprise on the Elixirs. They're always superb. The point worth making is that due to a sloppy handoff from UPS to the Postal Service, the strings did not arrive on time — in fact, very late. But when I called Musician's Friend about it, they sent me another set as an apology, even though it wasn't their fault. Another example of exceptional customer service from MF. Thanks, Elijah and MF!

Heavy strings on my acoustic guitar prevented me from playing long periods of time.

These strings sounded terrible. Plink plunk, no chime at all, like a banjo. Replaced them with Martin silk and phosphor, way better.

I like to keep my guitars as close to factory/point of purchase stock as possible. I did go one gauge lighter for better playability being a singer/strummer and not having to worry about string breakage! Where I live music stores are few and far so now I rely Musician'sFriend for all my future musical needs.
