OVERVIEW

Elixir Strings with Nanoweb coating last longer and sound great!

Gauges 10-13-17-26-36-46.

The engineers at Elixir took their original Polyweb coating and shrunk it down to Nanoweb size. The result? Brighter-sounding electric guitar strings that last 3 to 5 times longer than regular strings.

In addition to an ultrathin grunge-resistant tubular coating on the wound strings, Nanowebs now have a revolutionary Anti-Rust plating on the plain strings to extend their life too.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in guitar strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

I've been playing for 26 years, this is without a doubt the best feeling and longest lasting set of strings I've ever used.
No one enjoys changing strings and cleaning them after every session. After trying these you will find your playing experience...liberating.
No other coated string does it this good.

Although the strings are advertised as having a long life, I've found them to break easily while bending or tuning. You have to consider that the nanoweb coating Elixer puts on these strings decreases from the monetary resources left over for the actual string; it ends up being cheaper in order to maintain a competitive price. The coating wears off easily and proves to be pretty useless except for serving to make the string slipperier and slidier. As a result, the strings feel smoother on your hands and create less noise from rubbing against them. I like this string noise, and the friction it's caused by helps me, personally, to feel the distance I'm sliding across the string. In other words, it's easier to keep track of where I'm at on the neck. The only possible reason I could think of to use Elixer's would be if you never bend and you really like the slippery feel that they give. I did use them for a while for this purpose, but I now find them to be too slippery. If you are a novice, please look at Ernie Ball or D'addario strings. They withstand more punishment and they have a much more popular, natural, human sound.

Comments about Elixir Light Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

Elixir's are all I use; on my electric and acoustics. Best thing is they sound great, and really do last longer. Only issue I have had is that the wound strings have on occasion, "un-wind"

Comments about Elixir Light Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I have had a very positive experience with Elixir strings. I've tried many others but always seem to come back to Elixir for consistency. The string tone is nice and crisp and the coating really does do the job in keeping the strings feeling smooth and always looking clean and untarnished for the long term. Some people feel that the original polywebs are the only ones to buy, but I have had a very good, consistently positive experience with the nanowebs as well. Very nice quality strings.

I definitely prefer these Elixers on my Qmerican HH Tele and also Pawn Shop Strat. Warmer than nickel but still can do that Fender scream.

I tried these strings and loved them and bought a few sets for both of my gigging guitars. My band performs about 2 to 3 times per month and I just experience my third broken string during a performance within the last 6 months. The latest set was only 3 weeks old. If you can't rely on them when performing, I don't want them! Prior to using these this I can't remember the last time a D'Addario string broke.
