Elixir

Combat finger grunge!

Gauges: 10-13-17-32-42-52.

Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings. Elixirs are the first major innovation in electric guitar strings in over forty years, and deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Plain Steel Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

In addition to an ultra-thin grunge-resistant tubular coating on the wound strings, Nanowebs now have a revolutionary Anti-Rust plating on the plain strings to extend their life too.

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

The last set I bought was December 2010! Yeah that is a little long but.. I put them on my electric the 23rd, after a little over a year I packed them away and put on a standard set that lasted about 4 months. The standard strings went dull and I got the same Elixirs back out and and strung them for a second time and they sounded great then and remained. Now about a week ago I finally took them off my electric and what? Put them on my acoustic! They sound really nice, full and warm acoustically and they didn't sound dull before I actually took them off my electric, only the high 'e' didn't survive the last re-tensioning. The exposed string looks surprisingly bright, there's some coating left (all except over the picking area and frets), they were cleaned one time at some point with a very handy oil, Ballistol.

I can hardly remember what they sounded like new, but three years later after being restrung 3 times they still sound good! These strings are strong.
I almost forgot, 10-52s is the best size ever for drop D and work perfect for me in standard tuning as well (I've had them in C standard and drop B before, they take it well enough to play with.)

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I've always used regular strings and thought the Elixers were a sham until I played an acoustic that had a set and I was blown away. Fast forward two weeks and I threw them on my Ibanez RG420 and haven't changed them in two months! There's a little wear around the pickups but the rest of the strings are in great shape without any rusting. Great deal if you change your strings every 1-2 weeks like myself

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I got my first electric guitar 6 months ago and it sounded okay. But when I put the elixir strings on it sounded like a totally different guitar. The sound was so much better and it also stayed in Tune longer. The thick bottom strings give a real heavy sound while the the thin top strings make it easy to bend. If I knew how good these strings were. I would have bought them sooner.

The tone is great. Love the deeper sounds from the heavier bottom strings. These strings last forever. The last set was on my guitar for almost a year and still sounded pretty good.

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

Just got these in and put them on my Gibson CS336. I don't know what to say, but WOW! I was concerned about the heavy bottoms not fitting in the Faber ABR1 bridge slots, but I did not need any filing...They fit perfect and I now have the low end I have been craving for. What a punchy sound. Its like a whole new guitar. What tone. I will never use any other string or gauge than these Elixir 10-52s.

          Simply Amazing

          By Lerb21

          from Western Pennsylvania

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I've searched long and hard for good strings. I used to use Fenders, then I went to Ernie Ball, and then D'Addarios. A Friend recommended Elixirs and another recommended .010-.052 gauge, so I killed two birds with one stone and bought both. These things are great. Just amazing. I put them on and this Telecaster that I have makes me sound like Don Rich. Great tone to start out with that I could never achieve with any other brand. But it gets even better! I've had these strings on for two and a half months so far and they still sound like I just got done putting them on. I play upward of 3 or 4 hours a day, and these things have performed spectacularly. On a side note, people often complain about the nanowebbing fraying where to pick the strings. This does happen, however, it doesn't affect the tone or functionality of the strings at all.A great buy that more than pays for itself.

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

If you ask me, I believe that Elixer strings in Skinny top Heavy bottom gauge is bound to last much longer than Ernie ball strings (even though they say Ernie ball is the king of strings). Maybe on second thought, you can never go wrong with Elixer strings.

          I liked 'em

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been using theses strings for 6 months now on my main electric. I play anywhere from about 2-6 hours a day and one set lasted about 3 months and just started showing wear. I have Floyd Roses on my guitars with that in mind strings are a real pain to change, I now don't mind because when I do change strings I know it'll be a good while before I have to again. If you want some quality long lasting strings go for these they are pretty awesome!

          Excelent gauges Beefy low end!

Comments about Elixir Light Top/Heavy Bottom Nanoweb Electric Guitar Strings:

I have these on my Dean Caddy and My Gibson USA Explorer. First, I'm a bassist, but play drums and lead guitar on my brothers' recordings. I don't play a lot of lead work or bend much on the lower strings. My rhythms sound nice and chunky with these strings, without EQ-ing. Also these last many times longer than other strings, making them well worth the price. I also use Elixirs on my bass. Best strings by a longshot IMHO.

this is a great product, i have had a set of these for a long time and never even thought of changing them. there is a great reduction on finger squeaking and they don't go out of tune fast. they also stretch into place nice and fast. i highly recommend you buy at least one set of these.
