I am a full time musician, and I have used these strings on various acoustic guitars for many years. It is true that they don't sound quite as bright as uncoated strings when you first put them on....they sound more like new strings that have settled in after being played for about an hour. The cool thing is that they keep that sound much longer than any other brand of string I have ever tried. With uncoated strings I can only get about 8-10 hours of use before they need to be replaced, and the tone starts to deteriorate almost immediately. The Elixirs keep the same tone, even after being played on several gigs. I usually get at least 2 or 3 weeks of extensive playing before I replace them. Even then the tone is still pretty good, I just start to notice the intonation changing a bit. I recently put on a different brand of uncoated strings on my Taylor because I was in a bind and the local store was out of Elixirs. I recorded one song in the studio, and did two gigs, and the strings are totally shot. I am off to the store today to get more Elixirs! As far as Elixirs breaking.......I have never broken one! For those that claim that Elixirs break easily, I would suspect it is your guitar setup or your playing style that is the problem. I used to break strings often in my early days. Proper set up and improved playing technique solved that, way before I started using Elixirs!

I play an Ovation that has pretty low action. My cousin gave me a set of Nanowebs to try out because the Martin SPs that I had been using were tearing up my callouses. The smoothness of the Nanowebs were awesome and the lack of squeak when I moved up and down the fingerboard was great. I play about 3-4 hrs/day and am used to my strings lasting longer than a month and a half. That's how long the G lasted. It broke right in the middle of practice. Then the D broke 10 min before church started. The Nanowebs had a brightness and brilliance that can't be duplicated with Martin SPs or D'Addario Phosphor Bronze, but they also have strange chintzy, twangy highs. I'll play with them again if given to me, but I won't pay for them.

Comments about Elixir Medium Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
When I'm playing a lot, like we do in the summer time in this area I use Gibson strings on my Gibson guitar. When it slows down in the winter time, I use the Elixar Nano web strings which are quite close to the sound of the Gibson's, but I don't need to change them as often, so it is financially feasible for me to do so.

Comments about Elixir Medium Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I bought these strings back in December and they sound just the same as they did when I first put them on! They have a nice volume, that really gives life to your guitar. The sound is very clear. Also, the strings last at least 8 months, which is a very long time! (When compared to the Martin Bluegrass, or Gibson Phosphorus, strings I used to use, which only ever lasted a month, if that.)
As far as price goes, it is completely worth it. I play my guitar moderately, so the strings do not get much wear on them. However, these strings last way longer than any others I have ever used. The investment is definately worth it.

Been using on all my guitars since I first got them with my Taylor 815, 18 years ago. They are great and last a long time without losing tone quality.

Overall these strings sound great on my 310ce Taylor. They sound great unplugged and plugged in.
There awesome for a long time!

Comments about Elixir Medium Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These are very good guitar strings. I bought them just to try them out and the sound and tone is exellent. However, I felt like the finger play was a little bit too hard for me. I do a lot of finger style and it was a little hard for me to play with these high tension strings. Anyhow, if you like playing with medium strings, look no further. Stay with these babies. Beutiful tone, long life. Satisfaction Guarantee.
Comments about Elixir Medium Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These strings are solid! They retain that brand-new string sparkle longer than any other. My hands don't sweat much at all when I play, so a set of these strings will usually last me at least 4 months. Although, I have a friend who can dirty up any set of strings in about 2 weeks, I've witnessed this, it's really gross. I must say though, that I might actually prefer the sound of Martin strings, but the reason I use elixer's is simply because they sound fresher and brighter for a longer time period. I find that any other string seems to lose that initial sparkle after just a few weeks.
Comments about Elixir Medium Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I've used other strings before, but after i received these for a Christmas present i will never go back to any other brand. these strings make my crappy guitars sound 3x better.
