OVERVIEW

Elixir Nanoweb wound acoustic guitar strings are sheathed in a thin polymer coating that retains a natural feel while protecting the windings from the gunk that shortens their life and ruins tone. The coating gives them a smoother feel and reduces finger squeaks. 11-52.

A lot of reviewers have experienced some discomfort with the factory-installed Elixir 16052 Light gauge strings on many of their guitars esp.on the treble side. My new Taylor 114ce came with Elixir 16052 Light gauge strings. The high E (.012) and B (.016) were tough on my fingers. The Elixir 16027 Custom-Light is more comfortable (.011) and (.015) without sacrificing tone or volume. I purchased a cheap set of Ernie Ball strings just to change out the E & B before investing in the higher priced Elixirs. Here's a tip: the Taylor website has a video on how to change strings-take a refresher and view it especially the part on "stretching" the strings after the install and prior to final tuning. It is very helpful and the strings will stay very close to pitch when done. BTW my Taylor GS Mini Mahogany came with Elixir 16102 Medium gauge (.013-.055) but it is very comfortable probably due to the shorter scale length. Hope that helps!

I've been using elixers for around 2-3 years now on my Seagull Artist series. They get a wonderful defined high end. The lows aren't anything to speak of. One thing I really can't stand about them is how fragile they are. They are incredibly easy to break. The feel of them is great, I've had the bass strings on my bass for over a year and still have great tone! But I think that the fuller tone of CHEAPER strings(d'addarios etc.), not to mention the strenght of them, gives them an advantage over the Elixers even with the long life they have.

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Custom Light Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

So far I like these strings a lot on my Takemine GS series Cedar top. The custom gauge for me is a happy medium between playability and tone. I strung my son's acoustic with these as well and he is liking them also. They are also quiet. Not a lot of squeaks and string noise coming from them.

I have been using Elixir strings for several years now. I use the Custom light PB's (.011) on my Taylor 114ce and I use the Light PB's (.012) on my Taylor GS Mini Mahogany. My playing is mostly fingerpicking so these are the most comfortable for me without giving up much volume/tone. Check out the Taylor website for video on restringing if you are having trouble, it really helped me.

Started using these on a Taylor GS-mini. Was so impressed I outfitted my straight acoustic Martin D-18 with them. I love the way they let the instrument sing. I play at home a lot and it nice to have really good sound without messing with electronics. Recently added a Taylor 512 CE to my pool and immediately replaced the strings with these. They work well with the Taylor Expressions-2 system and can be used in small venues producing an amazing sound.

I got a new 2014 Breedlove Stage Concert on Stupid Deal and figuring the strings have been on the guitar for quite a long time I decided to go with these Elixir's. They did not disappoint. Tone was excellent and they were quite easy to tune with the onboard tuner.

First time I've used these strings, was experimenting w/ different guage strings. I play acoustic fingerstyle and lights were a little too heavy, ultralights too light but these custom lights are just right. The tone on these strings is excellent, good balance and everything crisp and clear. Can't say much about the longevity yet but my overall first impression of these strings was very positive, will definitely continue to buy them.

I've been using Elixir strings since 2004 when my Alvarez acoustic came with them. For the price and quality you can't beat these strings. The harmonics and tonality sound great especially for Nanoweb Custom Light's. Deep rich bass and mids, the lows especially sound good for folk and grunge type playing. Been playing guitar since 1992 and out of all strings these are the ones for me.

I've played music for 30 years, but just started using Elixir's a few years ago. I bought a set of the old strings I use to use. Man could I tell a difference. The strings felt like they were cutting my finger tips. The coating on the Elixirs are well worth the difference in price. Great for beginners or professionals. Makes picking enjoyable & can pick much longer.
