OVERVIEW

Balanced voice across all strings.

Gauges 013, .017, .025, .032, .042, .053.

Elixir Nanoweb HD Light Strings have a bolder high end and fuller low end with a balanced voice across all the strings. This was achieved by blending the plain steel strings of a medium gauge set with the wound strings of a light gauge set, bridged by a custom .025 third string. The increased tension of the treble strings improves their articulation. The interaction of the tension profile with the soundboard also adds to the harmonic content of the bass strings. The result is a new phosphor bronze tone that offers a balanced voice across all the strings and a light, comfortable hand feel.

Also available in 80/20 (see SKU#J04532).

For my guitar, not so great

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb HD Light Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I bought these expecting "HD" sound of some sort. Well, maybe for some guitars this may be true. I know they're designed for Taylor so maybe that's the ticket, I dunno. My Martin HD35 has incredible loud and full sound and the Elixer light mediums really add an even greater volume to this dread, but the HD lights seem to deaden the low end some. The high end seems to ring clearer but the strings became difficult to play, requiring more pressure to get them to sound out. If I press hard, the high end does reward me with very clear trebles but... I prefer easy playing and full sound so I knocked off a star on my rating. Reading the reviews I have to assume that they must work better on some guitars than others, I guess. Just not for me and mine, however.

I have a six string and a 12 string Taylor, Elixir strings came on both when I bought them. I was a Martin SP man .Not soon after I bought my 6 string, I was telling my self put The Martin strings on, then listen too it. I did . I always felt it took a couple days for the strings to settle down. I found myself telling myself the strings you took off sounded better than your favorite you put on. after a week or two I could not take it any more . I ordered Elixir strings put them back on . and have never been sorry again. the Martin SP sounded great on my Two other solid top guitars I Had . But for these Taylor Guitars I Have Elixir Are For Me.

Have used Elixer Nano mediums for a year or so. Needed to go a little lighter. Same great tone and last forever (or close). I practice regularly and play out once a week. They still last 2-3 months.

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb HD Light Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I tried these strings out on my seagull s6 spruce and ended up liking them. I had light medium elixirs on before, and compared to the light mediums the hd lights are quite a bit more balanced in terms of tone and feel (on your fretting hand). Nice for both fingerpicking/fingerstyle and strumming, prob not so much if you play blues or bend a lot. You do lose a little bit of volume, and it is clear that they were voiced for smaller bodied guitars rather than dreads or jumbos (as in if you like the bass of a dread or jumbo you might not like these).

I have a Taylor so I was interested in these strings. But I'm currently in Afghanistan and I decided not to bring my Taylor here. I bought a Cort Earth 70 to bring to the desert and installed these strings on it right away. They really sound good on this guitar. So far they sound great and stay in tune well. I will restring my Taylor just as soon as I get back home. Definitely worth the price. No guitar sounds good with bad strings on it.

I've used Elixir light phosphor bronze strings almost exclusively for the past several years on my Taylor 414CE. I changed my guitar's strings last night and didn't initially hear a discernible difference. This morning when I heard my guitar through the in-ear monitor system at church I heard a HUGE difference. There is much more presence and brightness. This afternoon I asked my son to play my guitar. Sitting across the room and hearing him play (which is always a treat) I could immediately hear a positive difference in the body and presence of the sound. If I break a guitar string it is always the G string. I've gone so far as to order single .024 G strings by the dozen, and keep them in my guitar case. I believe the increased size of .025 will keep me from breaking that string. I've been sold on Elixir strings for years and have been fortunate to test some strings for them. These are the best I've yet played. Thank you Taylor Guitars and Elixir Strings for collaborating to create this string set.
