Elixir

Combat finger grunge!

Gauges: 50-70-85-105.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over 40 years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings.

Elixir Heavey Electric Bass Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

Elixir heavy bass strings are the best. Get you some. The heavies are unbeatable.

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

a freaking 10
I play in a small band that rocks hard. We practice three times a week doing at least 2 run throughs of 12 song sets each practice, not to mention dialing in new songs and song writing sessions. My first set of these lasted 4 months and I finally wore thru the coating on a few frets, but the strings still sounded great. There is no comparison to elixirs.
Outstanding sound, sustain, and brightness that last and last

Awesome tone, perfect gauge.

By Jarrod Vickers

from Michigan

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

My band plays in drop B so having a heavy gauge string that wouldn't go out of tuning all the time was a must. Just purchased the Dean Custom Zone Nuclear Green guitar merely for looks and because it got good reviews. Probably should've gotten a 5 string if I were smart but the Dean was too ridiculously colored for me to pass up. These strings get the job done! They tuned to drop B beautifully and stayed there. They don't play like rubber bands and sound great! Definitely get these despite the price!!! They'll last!

SEXT STRINGS, BUT...

By Space Moth

from Spokane, Wa

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

These strings are THE BUSINESS...I had a set of Ernie Ball Power Slinkeys on my Ibanez, and they died on me after about 3 months (I'm cheap) so I went to my local GC and bought me these...AMAZING, to say the least. Best Slap/Pop tone I've ever heard, and the lows-highs are awesome. The only cautionary I want to give to other people considering these strings is that, thse strings are for fingers ONLY..A pick easily tears up the nanowebbing and ruins the strings. Other than that, Awesome strings, totally worth the 40 bucks.

The Elixir PH Sweat Shield

By Jay Juarez

from McAllen, Texas

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

Okay, These strings are expensive. That's the bad. The reality is that if you have Bad PH sweat that kills your strings before they stretch out, this is a gift from God. Some players complain about losing their tone after 2 weeks with regular strings, but I couldn't play more than 45 minutes before the "dulling" effect would kick in. This was documented in the studio where you could hear the difference on punch ins. Enter Elixir Bass Strings (medium)This was crazy! I actually go 2 or 3 months with bright broken in Awesome Tone! Good tone means better practice so my investment really pays off.

Thoughts 2.5 years later

By SandmanUT

from in the burbs of UT

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

All right, 2.5 years of the set of heavies on my practice beater mostly daily play of 1-2 hours and here's the results. Fuzzy strings were a reality after about 9 months of picking and slapping, interestingly more on the E 1-7 than the area of picking on all strings. (I do slide a lot for what that's worth). Sound is still relatively good but I knocked the quality down because for the first time in 25 years of playing, I snapped a D. Not the G, not an unwound E, the freaking D?!Fairly good deal otherwise and if I tire of the flatwounds on my gigging rig, I will probably move to these.

This strings are nice

By DarkBassistXIII

from Delta, PA

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

I bought these strings two years ago...I still haven't changed them. I haven't had to change them. The nanoweb coating only started to fray after a year of use. I play very fast and aggressively and these strings haven't broken on me yet(I used to have a 5-string bass and I broke the heaviest string) or lost tone. I used to play in drop A, now drop C and these heavy strings are perfect for low tunings. The biggest problem with these strings are the price. Forty dollars for strings might seem like a little much but after having these for so long, it seems like they've been worth it.

The Best Strings

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

I own a Schecter Studio 5 and I use these on my bass. It is the best strings I have found yet. They're great for Warm Finger Playing or High End Slapping. Whatever your style, these are good for you.

Amazing, unless...

By Angel4Lost

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

you manage to shred the nanowebbing. I bought a schecter five-string bass over a year ago, and it came with these strings on it. They're amazing and until about a week ago still looked and felt brand new. When I play, I usually use a pick, and that's how I tore up then nanowebing on the B and E strings. Still, they play like new, they're just a little fuzzy lookin! hahaha! I'm going to replace them though, so that I don't have to worry about having rusty, grimey strings. I highly recommend elixer strings, and myself will probably never use any other brand.

best strings ever

By HrLmPdQBa

from Jeffersonville, KY

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Heavy Electric Bass Strings:

I bought these strings 2 years ago because I was told these are the best for tone and brightness, not to mention the amazing life these have. I have not changed them yet, it has been 2 years and they still play very very good. It took over a year for them to even lose any tone whatsoever, and even today they sound better than most strings brand new! they still have sustain and everything. this is the best investment a bass player can make. most strings get old and feel rubbery after only a month or two, these strings retain their new feel for two years. these are definately the best strings ever. so what if they cost a little more than the rest, look how long they last, you actually save a whole lot of money on these strings. no matter what bass I play on, I make sure they have elixir strings on them. once you play these strings, you realize how bad the rest of the strings are.
