OVERVIEW

Funky fingers? No problem.

Gauges: 45-65-80-100.

Nanoweb coating permits electric bass strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings. Elixirs are the first major innovation in bass strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Elixir Nanoweb bass strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary replacement bass strings.

I've strung my basses with Elixirs for the last 6 years and they're just the best. If you're looking for tone that lasts, then get these strings. Until they some other company comes out with better strings, I'll continue to use Elixirs.
Great tone that lasts for a long time!
Nanoweb coating does come undone as time goes by.
For some, they may be a little pricy but in the long run, it's worth it.

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Light Bass Strings:

Ok, so I've been a big Dean Markely fan, using nothing but for over 25 years . Dean Markely are great strings but these Elixirs are heavenly! . Silky smooth for round wounds . great tone with none of that initial undesireable "twang" . "clank" that you get with a new set and need a couple days to get rid of . I've been using the DM Helix with are very flexible, and when I installed the Elixirs, they were stiff by comparison . to the point that I used needle nose pliars to do the initial wrap around the tuner peg . And they're a little stiff to play . however, I'm finding I like that . it is a plus doing fast pizzicato or stacatto lines . gives you a nice tight punch because they don't bend so easily . Also , I found light to be a little heavier than your "standard" light . could be the coating that gives an illusion . but "bottom line" (no pun intended) it's all good . Already switched over on 2 of my basses . I think I'm hooked and will be using Elixars on all my basses ! . . . good luck with yours .

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Light Bass Strings:

Elixir strings may not offer the brightest tone if compared to new fresh off the box regular strings, but in my experience they can last for years, and the tone is very good and fresh. Last set I had lasted over 3 years and I only replaced them because I replaced the bridge on my P-bass to a BA bridge and the old strings wouldn't reach the tuners afterwards. They do flake after a few months if play with a pick a lot, but it doesn't affect the tone, so if you don't mind the look you can use the strings for years with excellent tone.

The Elixer Nanoweb Light bass strings are perfect for long scale basses. They sound amazing, reduce finger squeaks, and last for an extremely long time. The sets are always consistent and have a great feel. Highly recommended.

Comments about Elixir Nanoweb Light Bass Strings:

I had never heard of Elixr until I bought an Ibanez that came with them on it, and I was super impressed. They sounded great, and I could achieve any tone I tried to get. I first wanted a nice twangy tone for slap and it was glorious. Then I wanted something for just long notes that didn't stick out and these strings just let you get whatever sound you want. And the tone does not change at all from the time you put them on to the time you take them off. I had a set on my bass for a year of constant playing and was amazed. These strings are worth every penny. The only small complaint that I have, that wasn't major enough to be a con, is the nano-web coating after about 8 months starts to come off slightly where I play. I only play with my fingers so. I strongly recommend these.
