Elixir NanoWeb coated electric bass strings sound and feel like uncoated strings. They are bright and lively, and the coating is so micro thin that you can barely tell it's there.

Comments about Elixir NanoWeb Single .130 Taper Wound Electric Bass Guitar String:
I got tired of the clanking sound of metal strings on my Warwick 5 string bass guitar with frets. The clanking of the strings on the frets drove me to get an Ibanez fretless bass. I bought black nylon strings for the Warwick to get a more natural upright bass sound and it worked. However the 5th string from the nylon set was a bit muddy sounding and not distinct enough. As an experiment I replaced the 5th string with this Elixir 5th bass guitar string and solved the problem. It's best to let the string break in before passing full judgment on the sound. Black nylon bass strings are practically useless for slap bass playing. It's nice to have at least one string that I can use for slap bass playing. I'm very satisfied with this product. It really solved my 'muddy sounding' 5th black nylon string bass problem. Takes a little getting used to the way it looks compared to the other 4 black nylon strings.
