I usually use the Elixir 80/20's and accidently bought Phospher because I didn't look closly enough. Good research though, If you are wondering what the difference is here goes. I personly don't care for the tone or feel the Phospher, not saying they are bad strings, just not the sound I like. The big difference is that 80/20s have that V curve eq to them, very full low end and top end, and less mids. Phospher have a lot of upper and mid frequencies, not as much bass, and they do play a litte stiffer. I think phospher would sound better on a Martin or a guitar that is focused on those frequencies, they don't work very well with my Taylor, being that the sound of Taylors are more V curve eq.

I decided to spend the extra bucks to check these strings out. I was very dissapointed in they way they felt and the way they sounded. The feel ws like teflon and the tone was dull. I have used Phospher Bronze strings in the past and liked their bright tone. These strings might serve a jazz player well as they tend to be a bit more on the smooth tone rather than bright side. I want as much bright tone as I can get and play near the bridge for the most part. I have not had these strings on the guitar very long so I have not checked out their durability. They are suppossed to last 5 times a slong but they cost 3 times as much. For my money I would rather change strings more often than endure this lacking tone.

I've used about everything over the years....Nothing comes close for an all around great sounding long life string...We actually use the same string in a medium gauge for Bluegrass stuff on the Martins..My opinion is they are about as good as it gets...Give em a try

Ok, but I prefer the regular nanoweb. These seem dull.

I love martin strings, very bright and resonant, but they sound good for about 2 weeks. The regular elixr nanowebs are slightly duller, but very similar and last much, much longer than the Martins and still sound good. These seem darker, duller. I thought they would be brighter yet than the regulars, but doesn't seem to be the case. They are ok, but I'm going to go back to the regular nanowebs next time.

Can break easy when you quickly let off the tension. They make my dust-catcher Takamine sound great as well as my 1976 F-363s .

My Taylor guitar stays in tune longer and sounds better. I have played guitar for 45 years. I am afraid to use any other string thinking I wont like them.

The tone of these strings remains true through month's of use. Another big plus is the plain strings do not rust and that is very cool.

I have switched over to these strings exclusively for my top two acoustic guitars (Taylor 916 and custom Collings OM2H). I play many different styles and these strings sound great and last much longer than typical strings. I was using Martin SP (and will continue to do so for my Martins since I have about six sets laying around) but I think these Elixir strings are a little more dynamic, and they definitely have much longer life.
