OVERVIEW

Combat finger grunge!

Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Crafted to last, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a warm, robust tone that sounds "played-in" right out of the pack while still retaining a remarkably clear mid-range presence. The POLYWEB Coating brings a soft, slick, and fast feel to the playing experience.

For a more traditionally textured, "uncoated" feel, try our ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit, especially if you’re also looking for a crisper, brighter, and more vibrant tone. For strings that strike a dynamic balance between full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity, Elxir's Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings deliver exactly that alongside their NANOWEB Coating’s more traditional feel.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

At least have easily breakable strings handy

Comments about Elixir Polyweb .024 Acoustic Guitar String 4-Pack Singles:

I find it difficult to believe that just maybe the Elixer G string breaks easily. After all, it is really the high E strings and the B strings that break the most anyway. Even so, according to other people's comments about strings like the G string from Elixer, I better think about buying this 4-pack of Elixer G strings.

Comments about Elixir Polyweb .024 Acoustic Guitar String 4-Pack Singles:

I'm here to tell you that the elixer Polyweb G strings, break far more than any of the others. I thought it was cause, I'm steady tweaking on it. I've heard dozens of reasons why the G breaks more often with these elixer's. However, I don't believe there is any rhyme or reason, and even if there is, I dont care, cause I love these strings. Just get some extra G's ... and note that the gauge of your G will depend on the width of strings you are using.... I use the light's, strictly polyweb, so thats .24

All G's break

Comments about Elixir Polyweb .024 Acoustic Guitar String 4-Pack Singles:

I teach guitar class with 40+ students playing 2 hours every day. We use several different brands of strings, and the G strings always break on the steel-string acoustics, and the D strings break on the nylon classical guitars. Just a fact of life, not brand-specific.

Comments about Elixir Polyweb .024 Acoustic Guitar String 4-Pack Singles:

MY EXPERIENCE - My Taylor 614CE came with Elixirs and I absolutely LOVED the sound. However, I've been playing acoustic for 40 yrs and could count on one hand the strings I've broke in that time - EXCEPT ELIXIRS I broke no less than 5 strings within the first year. Twice when I was simply holding the guitar between songs. I love them, but can't trust them enough to play out. It could be the guitar setup, but c'mpn it's a Taylor. AND No other strings do this. None broken since I stopped.

Comments about Elixir Polyweb .024 Acoustic Guitar String 4-Pack Singles:

I'm going on 27 years of playing and 24 years or so pro playing. I always buy extra G strings in this gauge of acoustic strings because for me they break 1st and well before I break another string. Other players on other or same gauge may break the high E 1st. With regards to other posters comments as to why:

1 Wound .024 G strings have a core (which I don't know the dimension of) which I believe supports more tension then a .012 high E. My belief comes from comparing bend force needed. Try it, almost all other strings are easier to bend in this gauge. If your an electric player, a wound .024 could be a shock.

2. G .024 tension will indent the saddle quicker than other strings which leads to less life before breakage.

2. IMHO, A developed player in most styles will hit a G string more than any other. It's a middle range string.

3. Out of 10 or so acoustics I've owned, 100's I've tried and from what I've read... the G string in a single piezo electric acoustic will be the string most likely to have the least volume. Just the way it is... I know I tend to compensate by hitting the G string harder, leading to less life.

I'm just happy to be able to by coated single strings :)
