A few years back I picked up a 2008 American Fender P-Bass on a whim. While, it was a fantastic instrument, I couldn't quite get the sound I wanted with the stock pickups. After heavily considering a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder, I decided to go the active route because of the enhanced headroom and added clarity.
Once the pickups arrived i installed them (along with the BTC Tone System I picked up from StewMac) and I was in tonal bliss. My amp is a Markbass Little Mark Tube (But I mostly use virtual instruments inside Pro Tools) and I have to say, the combination of the pickup and amp combination is absolutely incredible.

Fantastic pickups! Sounds amazing live and even more gorgeous in the studio. Swift and easy setup and its ready to go in 5 minutes. Only flaw to this system is that you need to make a spot for the battery to fit in. I had to take a Dremel to the body in order to fit the battery into my P Bass body.
