The S2 Pickup from EMG is the prototypical classic single coil style pickup still utilizing the stacked design. If you're looking for that true single coil tone, this is it. The highs are bright and peaky, with just the right mix of mids. The low end is clear and bright, but is there when you need it. All HZ Pickups have EMG's exclusive 5-wire Quik-Connect™ output allowing any number of wiring combinations, and are fully shielded for a minimum of noise. String grounding is recommended to further decrease noise.

I had bought the pickup for the Neck position to use in the neck position on my Strat to try to achieve a vintage tone better than my original stock pickups. The tone of the pickup sounds great on a clean setting, but with distortion it lacks the chunky sound that most neck pickups can achieve. It doesnt really produce great quality sound on fast licks or lead solos. overall 4/5
