Ask me a question

Comments about Eminence Basslite S2012 12" Bass Speaker:

I bought this to replace my speaker in my combo. It is a great much warmtt! One thing to remember, this is 150watts at 8ohms. So if your amp head is 4 ohms, you will only get about 75watts out of the speaker, BUT your amp head will have to work so much less to provide to this speaker. Ohms is VERY important here. So, if you read any reviews about how this speaker does not push the power and it can't handle a 100watt or 200 watt amp head....remember to consider the ohms factor. Very important!!!! My suggestion, buy 2 of these, build a 2-12 cabinet and hook it up. You will be BLOWN away at the sound quality!!!!

weak speaker

Comments about Eminence Basslite S2012 12" Bass Speaker:

I bought this speaker to lighten the weight of my combo amps. A Carvin 100 watt and a Hartke 120 watt kickback. This speaker cannot handle any volume at all. If you crank up the the volume up must turn down the bass on both amps. Would be great in a 60 watt combo or less. Sound is decent but no power capabilites. Contacted the manufacture about not having a rear frame gasket and they sent me one. They are now adding it to their spec sheet. Told them about the problem I was having with the speaker flub at higher volume and they said that I am playing too loud. If a speaker is rated at 150 watts and 300 watts peak, it should not be doing this. Into the trash it will go. Have had good luck with other Eminence speakers in the past and will probably buy their products in the future, but not this speaker.

Good Speaker for Less Weight

Comments about Eminence Basslite S2012 12" Bass Speaker:

This is a very good speaker. It provides solid bass support in a multi-speaker cab. Is it as good as an Eminence Delta? No. But it wasn't designed to be. This speaker seems best as an add-on speaker to suppliment other speakers while at the same time reducing the weight of the cab. This speaker works great in a 4x12 cab: two Eminence Deltas and two Basslites.
