Comments about Eminence Kappalite 3015LF Replacement PA Speaker:

I just picked one up a week ago to put in a single 15inch Lopo vinyl cab. I run 2 15inch Lopo cabs with a QSC GX5 power amp and Sans Amp PSA1.1 or a RBI depending on mood. PSA1.1 has better distortion...but that another review. The other 15inch cab I run a Eminence Kappa 15A. Each cab runs direct out of the power amp channel 1 and 2. So no daisy chaining, bi-amping, etc.. just 2 15s pushed direct from the source. The Kappa 15a will take the full 500w from the power amp, however the Kappalite will start to clip out around 90%. The Kappa 15a has a deep thump almost a punch to the gut, the Kappalite has more of a bright warm sound maybe a uppercut to the chin. Both speakers are "LOUD" and shake the house but side by side compared exactly on the same level and amp settings the Kappa 15a is the louder and deeper of the two. The one area the Kappalite shines is the weight factor. The Kappalite weighs around 9 pounds and the Kappa 15a around 18. In the cab the Kappalite and cab come in about 34 pounds, I can lift with my pinky... Kappa 15a round 45 pounds. Not that much more weight but 10 pounds is ten pounds. Both drivers are basically comparable in generic stats, 450w, 8 ohms, etc. My final and honest review of the Kappalite 3015LF is its a little less powerful than the Kappa 15a, has a brighter tone, weighs half as much, and will cost you $50 more. At the end of the day I'm glad I tried the Kappalite out and am very pleases with my purchase. However if I setup a few more cabs I'd go with the Kappa 15a or the 15a Pro model. The Kappalite doesn't quite have the ballz the 15a does. Its lighter though.... and sounds almost as good...... almost ..... did I mention its lighter .......

Comments about Eminence Kappalite 3015LF Replacement PA Speaker:

I'm using the Kappalite in an 3.2 cuft cabinet with two ports for bass guitar. I would have to say this is the best sounding LF driver I have heard. McJerry did an awesome job designing it. I highly recommend this driver for bass players who want some killer low end. 5 stars!

Comments about Eminence Kappalite 3015LF Replacement PA Speaker:

I have a problem with cheap gear blowing up... I replaced a blown speaker in a bass cabinet with the Kappalite 3015LF Replacement PA Speaker. Easy to do and I'm no tech. It's light weight and delivers a lot of boom boom boom boom. Love the tone. I mix it with a 2x10 because I heard it could be too low.
