At the recommendation of Eminence, I installed a pair of these in my Fender '63 Vibroverb re-issue. I'm glad I did! The sound of the 1058 really compliments the sound of this amp. The description "meaty" definately fits, but these speakers have clarity and chime, too.

When it comes to guitar speakers, there are many excellent choices out there, including a number of other offerings from Eminence. It is possible that a different pair of 10" ceramic or alnico magnet speakers from Weber, Jensen, Eminence, etc. might sound even better than the 1058 in this amp. However, their tone is so good, I have no desire to try anything else. Eminence could have recommended more expensive models, but suggested the 1058. To me, that confirms that these were the right choice. Highly recommended!

I built a Weber 'BandMaster' kit. I used Weber sig 10's in the combo and I also made an 'Iso-Cab' with 2 speakers inside; One is a 10" Weber Sig 10, the other this 10" Legend 1058 10N.

Comparing the two:

Weber: Much more solid build, louder, more mid-range, a 'later breakup' so you can get a nice cleaner tone at higher volume level. Personally, I like the Weber tone better. Ted Weber built a nice speaker. It can still 'break up' at volumes about 6 and up.

The Legend has the earier 'Breakup', so I think for a distortion sound,it would be good as for Metal, Hard Rock, etc. It didn't have as nice of tone that I was hoping for, more treble. Not as 'clean' and less well built than others in it's class.

I prefer the Weber at the same price. However, If you used the Legends, few really would be able to tell much difference except you. And what might sound good to others, may sound great to you.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I decided to replace the co-axial speaker in an old enclosed keyboard cab and mate it to a Micro Terror for a portable jam rig. Reviews and pricing led me to the Legend 1058. After hitting the first chord, even before break-in, I knew I made the right choice! The tone is articulate and well defined. This speaker handles cleans as well as overdrive with single coils or humbuckers. After break-in it's sounds even better. This is my first experience with Emminence and would not hesitate considering them as replacements in my gig amps.

Great sounding little speaker. I installed it in a Pignose G40V I picked up used the other day. Major improvement over the stock Chinese speaker. Got it on 15% off accessories sale also which made it an even sweeter deal.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I know this will seem crazy to some, but I swapped out the speaker in my Four Force EM1 with this speaker. The amp was good, but I though the stock speaker was holding it back. I was right, After about 3 hours of break in, The Legend really opened up the range on this amp and made it warmer and more articulate, The Cleans are Fender tube pure and the gain is gritty and controlled without sounding harsh and trashy. Great upgrade, made this amp really come alive! Musicians Friend as usual has the best price around!

I upgraded a new Pro Junior Pro with this speaker. I love the sound of the amp but since I replaced another Eminence, speaker, made for Fender, I don't know that it made a dramatic difference. Nothing against the speaker, it seems to have tamed a little brittleness on the highs. I might spend the money on something else. It would be a great choice if you needed a replacement.

I picked up a Fender Pro Junior at a great price because the speaker was toast. I had read many reviews of many different speakers to replace the old one and was overwhelmed at the selection and various opinions......It all came down to this .. A person has to know what type of amp he has , what sound he is looking for and what kind of player he is ....Im not an in your face SRV type player, I lean towards more sublte blues playing ....I retubed the amp , dropped in the Legend 1058 and strummed a chord and was INSTANTLY impressed ....And now after playing it for about 10 hours straight , lol , I have to say that this is one of the seetest little amps Ive ever played thru . The Legend is EXACTLY what I was looking for and it didnt break the bank. What a great buy !! Trust me on this .....

Rather than throw an old practice amp in the trash after the original speaker failed, I bought this as a replacement speaker, since the cost would have been less than actually buying a new practice amp.

I couldn't be happier with the results. This speaker really brought the beat up little old amp right back to life.

Also it is made in U.S.A. another real surprise at this price.

Put these speakers in my 63 Fender Vibroverb RI in place of the stock Oxfords. Up until that point I was going to sell the amp because I was not happy with the sound, but after these speakers went in, I am no longer entertaining the thought of selling, it made the amp come alive

Had been using Twin Reverb in my apartment for practice. Neighbors complained about the volume. So I bought a little Fender Frontman 25R. It was a decent little amp, but lacked tone and clarity. I put in an Legend 1058 and wow...what a difference. This little amp really kicks ! Also on top of sounding better, the amp now takes pedals MUCH better. I would have no problems using the amp now for smaller gigs. Great classic rock/ blues sound. It's still nice and light, easy to carry. A great speaker for sure at a great price.
