At the recommendation of Eminence, I installed a pair of these in my Fender '63 Vibroverb re-issue. I'm glad I did! The sound of the 1058 really compliments the sound of this amp. The description "meaty" definately fits, but these speakers have clarity and chime, too.

When it comes to guitar speakers, there are many excellent choices out there, including a number of other offerings from Eminence. It is possible that a different pair of 10" ceramic or alnico magnet speakers from Weber, Jensen, Eminence, etc. might sound even better than the 1058 in this amp. However, their tone is so good, I have no desire to try anything else. Eminence could have recommended more expensive models, but suggested the 1058. To me, that confirms that these were the right choice. Highly recommended!

I built a Weber 'BandMaster' kit. I used Weber sig 10's in the combo and I also made an 'Iso-Cab' with 2 speakers inside; One is a 10" Weber Sig 10, the other this 10" Legend 1058 10N.

Comparing the two:

Weber: Much more solid build, louder, more mid-range, a 'later breakup' so you can get a nice cleaner tone at higher volume level. Personally, I like the Weber tone better. Ted Weber built a nice speaker. It can still 'break up' at volumes about 6 and up.

The Legend has the earier 'Breakup', so I think for a distortion sound,it would be good as for Metal, Hard Rock, etc. It didn't have as nice of tone that I was hoping for, more treble. Not as 'clean' and less well built than others in it's class.

I prefer the Weber at the same price. However, If you used the Legends, few really would be able to tell much difference except you. And what might sound good to others, may sound great to you.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I've been at this guitar/amp game for over 45 years and the Legend 1058 is one of the best 10" speakers there is. I put it in a Fender FM25r, to replace the inefficient stock speaker. The change was immediate. The amp had a fuller sound with a nice bass response. I liked the increase in volume as well as the better overall sound quality. The cleans are clear and distinct, the distortion gritty and pronounced. I can actually use the amp to gig with, which I do without hesitation. The 1058 is a great upgrade to any 10" speaker amp.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I am very pleased. I have had the speakers for about a year now.
I took a 1073 Bandmaster Reverb 45 watt chassis and put it in a Newell solid pine cabinet along with two of the Legend 1058's. I couldn't have made a better choice. They're like Alnico Jensens without the ice-pickyness. The speakers do not flub out when amp is dimed. I wired the speakers for 4 ohms total to match the Bandmaster. The amp just cooks and now in a much more portable convienient combo.
The 1058's are very well made. Top drawer!
$60 ea? Are you kidding! A great deal!

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

The speaker gives what is given. It does not add or leave anything out.The sensitivity is what the smaller power amps need. This makes the Sienna sound like a bigger amp.
Bought this to replace a damaged speaker in a Sienna 30. This is what it should have come with. The amp and the speaker get out of the way. You can hear exactly what the guitar is doing. (or not doing!)
There are no tweaks required to get the best out of it. Stick it in, hook it up, and forget about it.
When you buy something that doesn't deliver, you never forget how much you paid. This is a high quality item. Try it, you will not be disapointed.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

Had been using Twin Reverb in my apartment for practice. Neighbors complained about the volume. So I bought a little Fender Frontman 25R. It was a decent little amp, but lacked tone and clarity. I put in an Legend 1058 and wow...what a difference. This little amp really kicks ! Also on top of sounding better, the amp now takes pedals MUCH better. I would have no problems using the amp now for smaller gigs. Great classic rock/ blues sound. It's still nice and light, easy to carry. A great speaker for sure at a great price.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I want to thank the previous reviewers for excellent data. This speaker has balanced the tonal output of my Vox ADVT 30 amp and made it reliable to do set ups on my guitars that still sound consistent when I plug in to my Line 6 AX212 performance rig. The overtones are so even it's a pleasure to listen close and makes the crunch very savory when you "dig in". The 75 watt capacity keeps the speaker accurate at higher volumes so the break up is not mush from the cone of the driver. The stock speaker was decent but thinner and more hifi sounding than the meatier sound of this model. Because it has an even top end you get more depth out of the mids and the detail is superb. Very versatile and makes for a very accurate pallette to dial in set ups. I would gig with this in a heartbeat.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

overall this is a ten inch guitar speaker I'll buy again, for sure.
Price comparison on this to me means this is as good as it will get until you spend a lot more.
I'm only reducing to 9 because I have limited 10" speakers here.
This was nice.. put into a cabinet and matched to a VHT spec 6, then with a modded vj, then a stock blackheart bh5 head. It sounded really nice.
Not broken in yet, but I will say this.. I fully expect this to live up to it's positive reputation.
Better than the VHT the fenders I have here, and some cheaper speakers.
Tone wise.. this is nice as can be in my book. I'd use a pair of these instead of a single twelve
            for sure.
            Price wise.. pretty good, too!
build is excelent. as advertised in every respect.
this category never shows up on my mac.
tha is.. all shows up but what category it is!
            I think it's value.. so a ten!

Comments about Eminence Legend 1058 10 In Guitar Speaker:

I upgraded a new Pro Junior Pro with this speaker. I love the sound of the amp but since I replaced another Eminence, speaker, made for Fender, I don't know that it made a dramatic difference. Nothing against the speaker, it seems to have tamed a little brittleness on the highs. I might spend the money on something else. It would be a great choice if you needed a replacement.
