Awesome Fender Speaker

Comments about Eminence Legend 1218 12" Guitar Speaker:

This speaker doesn't get a lot of press because it is overshadowed by the Patriot and Red Coat speakers in the Eminence brand. I've been through many Emi speakers in the newer lines but came back to this one. It is clean but definitely not sterile. Big warm (tight but not boomy) bass, mids are solid but smooth with just a touch of bite when you crank your mids. Highs are strong but musical - not harsh. It plays any style of music and keeps its composure at high volumes. I also like that it is slightly less efficient allowing me to turn my amp up more to get into the sweet spot. It just plain works for my Fender 40 watt black face amp. Cleans are exceptional and overdrive is very musical. For my purposes, it is the best speaker Emi sells.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1218 12" Guitar Speaker:

Good sounding speakers, warm, big but tight lows, good clear highs but not harsh. The tone is a little like a Celestion and a little like a Jensen maybe. With 125 watts through it full up it doesn't break up as in distort or freak out somehow but you can hear an extra zing, a little extra Celestion style buzz in there, it's nice. For blues, country, R&R and other medium distorted guitar this thing sounds great.

Comments about Eminence Legend 1218 12" Guitar Speaker:

I got this for a Fender 212R that I got for just about free. Those amps are known for their power and ice pick. I put in a couple of these after they were recommended to me by Tony Lucas the tone guru at Eminence. He told they were selected by an Eminence employee after running the same amp through their speaker machine.

The amp sounds great now for the clean, jazz and bluesy sounds. It is warm with great bass and alot of harmonic detail. It still has nice highs but not the ice pick in ears. And the headroom is great too...clean as loud as I can handle.

I also added a new MOD 4EB3C1B reverb tank. I actually tried the MOD 9EB2C1B which make the amp sound dark believe it or not. I kept the 4EB3C1B for the vintage reverb tone.
