I chose this to pair with a Texas Heat for the D***le style amp I just built. I can't say enough about it. The amp has a unique "vocal" quality and this, paired with the Texas Heat, sound amazing. Tight bass with no overwhelming boominess. Perfectly smooth midrange and a bright top end. The mids are the defining character of these beauties. They perfectly comliment the quality of the amp's voice like "singing" midrange. I had Celestions of varying models to try but not one of them came close to the quality of construction and were very "cheap" sounding by comparison. I am a 26+ year, performing veteran of bar, festival and fair shows, as well as building and repairing tube amps. I wish I would have found these years ago.

look great in my twin reverb. but, it made my amp sound like a marshall. the stock jensens are not as loud and bassy, but the mid and high-freq response is more appropriate for twangy blues and funky wah tones. i broke them in and no matter what guitar i used, the speakers sounded just like my othe amp loaded with celestions. i was hoping for a hybrid of british and american tone, but i can only find the british sound.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
Installed one in my VHT SPECIAL 6 Ultra Combo and wow it really woke this amp up.Increased volume and wiped out the muddiness it had in the higher gain setting.Just the right amount of clean without sacrificing the growl and crunch.VERY articulate speaker.Sounds great with my Epi Dpt and my Nashville Tele. Works well for any genre of music.
Rattles my windows when i push it with my VHT V-Drive or my Big M Pi fuzz

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
I am going to compare the Celestion G12T75 to the Man O War because I was looking for a comparison and couldn't find many. I just sat down for 2 hours with identical speaker cabs doing A/B tests back and forth. Here is what I found.
The G12T75 has a much more prominent midrange scoop than the Man O War. It also has a very heavy bass response and is raspier on the top end than the Man O War.
The Man O War does have a little bit of scooped mids but the mids that are there are wonderfully complex with a beautiful high end sizzle. There was no heavy bass.
If I had to use only one speaker of the two it would be the Man O War. However, where the Celestion shines is if you have one of those midrange heavy amps with no bottom. It is also great for pairing with another midrange heavy speaker that doesn't have very good bass response.
I read one review from another guy that said these two speakers sound nothing like each other. I totally agree with that. I bought the Man O War because I really liked the G12T75 with one of my mid heavy amps and I thought the Man O War would be very similar.
I'm not going to say that one is better than the other because they are so different and should be used to fit your purpose according to the speaker coloration that you need. Both are British flavored but that is where it stops. The Man O War will probably work in more situations than the G12T75 because it is more balanced across the frequency spectrum. If you want massive low end rumble and your amp is very midrange heavy, the G12T75 might be better for you.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
Great speakers. I can't speak for all amps, but my Marshall JCM900 sounds much, much cleaner than it did with the Celestions it came with.
These speakers have a beautiful mid, and very smooth high end. My JCM900 is a 'trebelly' amp, and this really brought it in nicely, allowing me to utilize the high end like it was meant to be. If you have an amp that is really bright, this may be a good option.
It handles both clean and varying levels of gain very well. I play everything from bluesy stuff, and high gain stuff like hair metal and old Metallica - these sound great for all, very versatile.
I would strongly suggest these speakers if you have or are looking into Celestion G12T-75 speakers. These really brought my amp to life!
It's a speaker, it looks like a speaker.
I took the chance that 'quality' referred to the construction - seems very sturdy. I would guess that these will last a while.
These aren't the cheapest speakers, but not the most expensive either. But, I do believe I got a great value on these, basing that rating on the difference I heard combined with the price paid.
Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
This speaker sounds great. I am currently using two of them in an Ear Candy Buzzbomb 2x12 alongside a set of Wizards; their sound profiles mesh very nicely. I have personally used the G12T-75, Swamp Thang, Black Powder and this Man-o-War is very similar to a G12T-75, only better. It sounds warmer and overall more lively than a G12T-75. I am a strong advocate of Eminence speakers both for their quality and sound and these and the Wizards are my favorites for high-gain so far!
Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
I replaced the speaker in my Fender Frontman 65R with this Man-O War,and I can not believe the sound and tone from this speaker it is bad to the BONE!.
Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
I got 2 16ohm of these to match with 2 Governors for use with my Valveking 100.As with any new Speaker they sounded harsh at first. But after being broken in they sound lovely.I play a wide assortment of music, which is why I paired them with Governors. These offer greater bass handling, and highs than the Governors, which are mid oriented.Together, I have the dream team of Speakers, capable of incredible harmonic articulation. Classic Rock, Blues, Metalcore, Black Metal, Jazz, Soca. U've got it with these, trust me.I've also found the Patriot equivalent to these would be the Swamp Thang & Texas Heats.Which ever way you slice it, you just can't beat Eminence for Tone.
Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
I wanted a brighter speaker to brighten up my Randall RM-20 with the KH-3 module. Was playing through a 1x12 with a greenback - it was very dark. This speaker makes it sound like I have a whole new amp - much brighter and gives me a lot of flexibility. Definitely not too bright. I have not explored the clean sounds yet, since I was so in awe of the crisp, distorted sound. Also tried it with the 5 watt Blackstar head, and the tone was also awesome.
Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:
I just installed this speaker in my 2x12 combo amp and I'm very impressed. When I replace the other speaker, I'll go to Eminence again. The Man O War is very similar to the Celestion GT12-75. Why pay for overpriced Celestions when these sound just as good? Also, I contacted Eminence with some questions before I bought this and they got back to me really fast with all the info I needed and they were really nice.
