I am going to compare the Celestion G12T75 to the Man O War because I was looking for a comparison and couldn't find many. I just sat down for 2 hours with identical speaker cabs doing A/B tests back and forth. Here is what I found.
The G12T75 has a much more prominent midrange scoop than the Man O War. It also has a very heavy bass response and is raspier on the top end than the Man O War.
The Man O War does have a little bit of scooped mids but the mids that are there are wonderfully complex with a beautiful high end sizzle. There was no heavy bass.
If I had to use only one speaker of the two it would be the Man O War. However, where the Celestion shines is if you have one of those midrange heavy amps with no bottom. It is also great for pairing with another midrange heavy speaker that doesn't have very good bass response.
I read one review from another guy that said these two speakers sound nothing like each other. I totally agree with that. I bought the Man O War because I really liked the G12T75 with one of my mid heavy amps and I thought the Man O War would be very similar.
I'm not going to say that one is better than the other because they are so different and should be used to fit your purpose according to the speaker coloration that you need. Both are British flavored but that is where it stops. The Man O War will probably work in more situations than the G12T75 because it is more balanced across the frequency spectrum. If you want massive low end rumble and your amp is very midrange heavy, the G12T75 might be better for you.

look great in my twin reverb. but, it made my amp sound like a marshall. the stock jensens are not as loud and bassy, but the mid and high-freq response is more appropriate for twangy blues and funky wah tones. i broke them in and no matter what guitar i used, the speakers sounded just like my othe amp loaded with celestions. i was hoping for a hybrid of british and american tone, but i can only find the british sound.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

I chose this to pair with a Texas Heat for the D***le style amp I just built. I can't say enough about it. The amp has a unique "vocal" quality and this, paired with the Texas Heat, sound amazing. Tight bass with no overwhelming boominess. Perfectly smooth midrange and a bright top end. The mids are the defining character of these beauties. They perfectly comliment the quality of the amp's voice like "singing" midrange. I had Celestions of varying models to try but not one of them came close to the quality of construction and were very "cheap" sounding by comparison. I am a 26+ year, performing veteran of bar, festival and fair shows, as well as building and repairing tube amps. I wish I would have found these years ago.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

I bought an Eminence "Man O War" 4 years ago and I still love it! I've used it with a few different amps and it sounded great with all of them. I've purchased other speakers, but the "Man O War" is my favorite. It sounds great, it is sensibly priced, and it's made in the USA.

I originally purchased the Man O War because it's often compared to a Celestion G12T75. Well, I recently had the opportunity to try them side by side. They were similar, both very crisp, but the Celestion was too scooped for my taste. I prefer the Man O War because it has more midrange and more punch.

I also compared the Man O War to an old Celestion/Marshall V30 speaker. Oddly enough, they were not as different as I'd anticipated. To my ears, the Man O War is a perfect blend of the V30 and G12T75.

Sounds great in a Marshall JCM900 combo!

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

Great speakers. I can't speak for all amps, but my Marshall JCM900 sounds much, much cleaner than it did with the Celestions it came with.

These speakers have a beautiful mid, and very smooth high end. My JCM900 is a 'trebelly' amp, and this really brought it in nicely, allowing me to utilize the high end like it was meant to be. If you have an amp that is really bright, this may be a good option.

It handles both clean and varying levels of gain very well. I play everything from bluesy stuff, and high gain stuff like hair metal and old Metallica - these sound great for all, very versatile.

I would strongly suggest these speakers if you have or are looking into Celestion G12T-75 speakers. These really brought my amp to life!
It's a speaker, it looks like a speaker.
I took the chance that 'quality' referred to the construction - seems very sturdy. I would guess that these will last a while.
These aren't the cheapest speakers, but not the most expensive either. But, I do believe I got a great value on these, basing that rating on the difference I heard combined with the price paid.

Installed one in my VHT SPECIAL 6 Ultra Combo and wow it really woke this amp up.Increased volume and wiped out the muddiness it had in the higher gain setting.Just the right amount of clean without sacrificing the growl and crunch.VERY articulate speaker.Sounds great with my Epi Dpt and my Nashville Tele. Works well for any genre of music.
Rattles my windows when i push it with my VHT V-Drive or my Big M Pi fuzz

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

This speaker sounds great. I am currently using two of them in an Ear Candy Buzzbomb 2x12 alongside a set of Wizards; their sound profiles mesh very nicely. I have personally used the G12T-75, Swamp Thang, Black Powder and this Man-o-War is very similar to a G12T-75, only better. It sounds warmer and overall more lively than a G12T-75. I am a strong advocate of Eminence speakers both for their quality and sound and these and the Wizards are my favorites for high-gain so far!

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

I dropped this speaker into a Peavey Valveking 112 and it transformed a lower end tube amp into a high-gain metal monster! The stock VK speaker is dark and muddy with no clarity with high gain. The Man o War has everything you could want! Super clear highs, but can be piercing at times which isn't a problem if you have an EQ, but the mids are pristine and the bottom end is huge, tight and crunchy! There's also a VERY noticeable volume boost! If you want a great Metal sound you want this speaker!

I just installed this speaker in my 2x12 combo amp and I'm very impressed. When I replace the other speaker, I'll go to Eminence again. The Man O War is very similar to the Celestion GT12-75. Why pay for overpriced Celestions when these sound just as good? Also, I contacted Eminence with some questions before I bought this and they got back to me really fast with all the info I needed and they were really nice.

Got one of these to replace the stock "Jet City by Eminence" in a Jet City JCA12S 1x12 (a great cabinet); am driving it with a Marshall DSL15H. The Man'O'War was a major upgrade, delivering a somewhat "dark" sound with solid bass, smooth midrange and the high-end hump shown in the response curve. Its voice is rich and full with either the clean (Classic Gain) or overdrive (Ultra Gain) channels of the DSL15H. Works well with a DiMarzio-powered Les Paul and a Warmoth Strat equipped with twin-blade DiMarzios (Pro Track, Chopper and Super Distortion-S).

I got 2 16ohm of these to match with 2 Governors for use with my Valveking 100.As with any new Speaker they sounded harsh at first. But after being broken in they sound lovely.I play a wide assortment of music, which is why I paired them with Governors. These offer greater bass handling, and highs than the Governors, which are mid oriented.Together, I have the dream team of Speakers, capable of incredible harmonic articulation. Classic Rock, Blues, Metalcore, Black Metal, Jazz, Soca. U've got it with these, trust me.I've also found the Patriot equivalent to these would be the Swamp Thang & Texas Heats.Which ever way you slice it, you just can't beat Eminence for Tone.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

I picked out this speaker to replace the Eminence Legends in my 4x12 cabinet. I was looking for something that would produce a tighter, less boomy low end. I had read a lot of good reviews on the Man O War so I went with the hype. Needless to say I was not disappointed. I even went an extra mile and combined two Man O Wars with two Red White and Blues, criss-crossing the two types in the cabinet. The first time I tested them out, I immediately noticed a huge improvement in clarity and attack. I think the main differences of note with the Man O Wars are a more powerful, cleaner low end, plus an added shimmer to the top end frequencies, with no unwanted distortion whatsover at high volumes. The two RWAB's, meanwhile, take care of the mid-range frequencies, smoothening them out quite nicely. To give a basic idea of my setup, I play through an old 120watt Peavey Rock Master tube head, so there is already plenty of power to go around. The Man O Wars simply throw even more aggression and power into the mix, while articulating just the right frequencies to produce a nice full sound. In all, it is more than worthy of its name.

Comments about Eminence Man O War 12" Guitar Speaker:

First I would like to say thanks to Eminence for creating these awesome speakers! I replaced the 4 speakers I had in my custom built birch cabinets and the "new sound" was simply amazing. I was well pleased by the sound of distortion with "full" bottom and surprised that no matter how much gain or bass input I used, the clarity stayed. The clean sounds were also phenomenal , and I really enjoyed "tweaking" in my own sound choices. No matter what effect or how much drive I used, the end result was always clean and shimmering or punchy and brutal. A serious "horns up" to the Man O War speakers, like the metal band of the same name, they kill!

I wanted a brighter speaker to brighten up my Randall RM-20 with the KH-3 module. Was playing through a 1x12 with a greenback - it was very dark. This speaker makes it sound like I have a whole new amp - much brighter and gives me a lot of flexibility. Definitely not too bright. I have not explored the clean sounds yet, since I was so in awe of the crisp, distorted sound. Also tried it with the 5 watt Blackstar head, and the tone was also awesome.

I bought 2 of these to put in a used Behringer 4X12 cab and what a difference my blackstar id 60H amp sounds now. It sounded great before the upgrade but now it's a metal machine. I play de-tuned 7 string guitars and these speakers handle the lows very well. The punch and crunch is amazing. I'm thinking about getting a pair of wizards to complete my speaker upgrade for my cabinet. I'll write a review on the wizards when I get some and break them in.

I bought this an hour ago and put it in my 2x12 cab. After playing two tunes through it I can assure you that it does in fact reproduce sounds electronically. And they sound good through it with my Splawn. Blah blah mids blah blah lows blah blah no icepick.

This is a nice sounding speaker. I use it in an ISO cabinet as as replacement for the original speaker. When I use the ISO cab to record at my home studio, I place an SM57 in the cab about 1/2 between the cone edge and dust cap, about 4" away. I get a nice crisp sound out of the speaker. Using an ISO cab has certain advantages but also some disadvantages, mainly the 'boxy' sound. Of course when you place a speaker in a box, you're going to get a boxy sound. This is overcome by application of EQ and smart mic placement, but also speaker choice. In an ISO cab, there is no point in spending a lot of money on a "vintage" or special speaker since you are not going to get all of the nice frequencies and responsiveness out of it. Therefore an ISO cab speaker should be loud, handle you power amp appropriately and have as little character as possible (ie: flat response). This speaker, although not completely "flat", has a nice pleasing tone and just enough character to make it interesting without the need for ridiculous EQ. I use a DI sound plus this speaker in the ISO cab and mix to taste for recording. In this fashion the speaker works great and I get a nice punchy sound. The ISO cab alone is not bad to record with by itself with this speaker, but there is a definite loss of 'punch' without the DI signal, an effect of putting a speaker in a box with 20# of padding. The speaker has a nice even breakup that sound pleasing in the context for which it is being used. I run a 100W amp out to the ISO cab (this is a 120W speaker). If the speaker came in 150 or 200W versions I would have likely bought those instead, just to give my amp a little more breathing room (ie: so I don't blow this speaker if I dime the amp).

Overall this is a good ISO cab speaker. If I were to replace my amp's speakers, I would likely NOT choose this speaker just because I would want something that had more 'color' and 'character'. But for an ISO cab speaker it works nicely.

I bought these to replace the weak stock speakers in the Marshall MG cabinet. Playing out of the Line 6 Spidervalve head....These speakers are awesome, they will not let you down. I researched these speakers and found hardly any reviews but after looking at the spec sheet, they are almost the exact same as the Celestions but better in every aspect. I purchased them with low expectations because how is it possible there's a better speaker out there than the Celestions for wayyyy cheaper, They blow those things out of the water. The magnets on these things are massive, the only downfall to the speakers are heavy they are and that's not even a problem LOL!
