Comments about Eminence Patriot Black Powder 12" 75W Guitar Speaker:

I tried several 12" speakers in a 1 - 12" open back modeling combo amp that sounded OK at lower volumes but would thin out when cranked. The Black powder changed all that and made the amp into a room filler. It has a tight bottom that only gets better with volume and still retains clear mids and enough sparkle to sound great with any guitar.

Comments about Eminence Patriot Black Powder 12" 75W Guitar Speaker:

I have a carvin x100-b combo amp that came with two celestion rocket 50's. I have always hated the way it sounded. It sounded like the speakers were strained, that I stopped playing the amp.One day I deceided to invest in replacing those speakers with the black powder. now this amp roars and sounds great, the only draw back the amp got ten pounds heavier. But good magnets help with speaker performance and seperates great speakers from so-so speakers

Great speaker, if you want what it does

Comments about Eminence Patriot Black Powder 12" 75W Guitar Speaker:

For a while I had this speaker in a closed back cab, which is not its recommended setting. It sounded great, from what I could tell, but I was worried about damaging it. when I decided to by a 1x12, and learned that the one I was getting was an open-back 1x12 50 Watt amp with a kinda bland, generic Eminence KEI Epic, which I couldn't find any stats or wattage rating for, I decided to take the Black Powder out of its cab and try it in the new amp (Kustom Defender). It sounds great! It can handle endless amounts of brightness, and you can get a great Fendery tone ranging from the Twin to the Super Reverb range of sounds. But you can also get distortion and overdrive with a nice low growl. This model of speaker is very dynamic, and seems able to handle a wide range of sounds and frequency signal changes and the like. And I can't say that it seems to be lacking in low-end response, even though Eminence rates is low-end response as "subdued" as opposed to either 'aggressive' or 'moderate'.

Good speaker just not my style

Comments about Eminence Patriot Black Powder 12" 75W Guitar Speaker:

As with all of Eminence speakers they are very well built and I've never had any problems with them. Especially for the price they are a great value. The Black Powder has very strong mids, a little too strong for my taste. It's very hard to get any bottom end chug out of this speaker and its very bright. I have it in a Peavey Ultra 60 and I just can't find a usable tone. I'm not saying its a bad speaker just doesn't suit my style.

            Got Balls?

Comments about Eminence Patriot Black Powder 12" 75W Guitar Speaker:

I play in a Heavy Metal band, and this speaker puts the Kick in KickA**! I use a Peavey JSX 212 Combo Amp, and a Behringer Ultrastack BG412F 412 Straight Cab. First I replaced the JSX Custom speakers that were already in the 212. Don't get me wrong, the JSX speakers are B-E-A-utifully voiced and are totaly clear. But they were lacking the Umpf that I needed in my music. After I replaced the JSX Speakers, I was hooked! I immedeatly got 4 more speakers and replaced the rest! Not only does it sound killer, IT LOOKS KILLER! The way that the red pinstripes look under the grill looks sick! If you are a metal head looking for bone crushing tone, or just looking for a tighter bottom end. THIS IS THE SPEAKER FOR YOU!! BUY TODAY!!
