Comments about Eminence Red Coat Private Jack 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
I have bought a lot of speakers (costing me $1000s) and this one absolutely stands out from the rest. Very balanced, musical, tone. Its OD tones are very good, but where it stands out is its absoultely stunning clean tones. I was very susprised that it is so good versus many much more expensive speakers from Celestion, Jensen, EV, ASW, WGS, Two Rock, Tone Tubby, JBL, Altec, and others. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I play Fender Tweed amps from the late 50s and very high-end Dumble-style amps - a Glaswerks SOD II and a Bludotone High Plains Drifter.

Excellent speaker, if you're looking for clean tone a little more mid and bottom
End this is it. Sweeeeet
Excellent speaker, packaged well and on time. A replacement for the factory
Eminence speaker. This is an upgrade for sure, I was looking for a little more
Low end and kids from my Blues Jr and this was it! Clean sharp highs as well.
Great speaker!
Comments about Eminence Red Coat Private Jack 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
Just in case you were wondering, the Private Jack does fit in the Fender Blues Junior cabinet with no modifications or transformer swaps. Like many Fender Blues Junior owners, I became disillusioned with the amp's somewhat boxy, harsh nature and have swapped tubes (preamp and power tubes) in an attempt to combat that sound. I have not performed any of the various mods out there for the amp, but I can say without a doubt that this speaker radically improved this amp. The sound is clearer, less harsh, and not prone to low end farting common with the stock Eminence speaker. I thought maybe I was getting tube rattle before the speaker swap when I hit the low E, but it was just the stock speaker. Before trying any mods, try swapping speakers. There's no soldering involved and it only takes about 10 minutes. As far as which speaker to mod with, I think it depends on your use for your amp. In my case, I'm playing lead, so I needed a speaker with some smoky texture that wouldn't muddy up on the low end. This speaker fits that bill nicely, with no harsh highs, excellent definition and a prominent but bluesy midrange. I find that the tone of this speaker is well suited to jumping out of the mix in a musical, balanced way. My buddy recently installed a Cannabis Rex in his cabinet, which has more bass and an overall warmer tone, and the Private Jack plays very, very nicely with his tone.

Recently replaced the original speaker in my Hot Rod Deluxe with the Private Jack 8 ohm. The amp is a good amp but the speaker made it sound harsh and the highs were like an ice picks. The lows were also very loose and muffled. After installing the Private Jack I plugged in and was floored on how much better my Deluxe sounded. Very smooth and added definition to the notes. Bottom was tight and the highs were finally tamed. All in all a great improvement. I had stopped using my HRD to gig with because of problems mentioned above.I am glad to add this amp back into my line up. I also use a Marshall TSL100 full stack and will start changing the Celestion speakers in these also. I play a Srat as my main guitar and a Les Paul and this speaker sounds great with both of them and accepts my pedals nicely. And the red color..... Pretty Cool.

Excellent replacement speaker. I bought a Crate V18 212 used and replaced the plastic coned stock speakers with a pair of these Eminence Private Jacks. Oh what a difference these speakers made, just brilliant! I doubt I will ever get rid of the amp now. Look out Celestion, Eminence is coming at you!

I bought a fender Pro-Sonic combo which came with chinese made Celestion Vintage 30, and whew it almost took my head off!!! The mids and highs where glass shattering bright. Overdriven they where Ok specially for solos with proper knob tweaking. I replaced with Eminence Jack and problem solved. The speaker itself is high quality from ever detail, but what matters most is the sound, which is great right out of the box.

I have a Crate Blue Voodu Cab that sounded awful. I replace the speakers with Private Jacks and the difference was insane. These speakers have a very throaty mid range to them, yet still have the bite needed for heavier applications. The bottom end is warm without making your tone flubby. I'm really glad I put these speakers in my cab and I know any cabs I get in the future I will put these in!

I was building a 2x12 cabinet and was in the market for eminence speakers. I had one before and it worked well. I couldn't decide between private jack and governor, I play rock and heavier music almost to but not quite metal. I was nervous that these speakers would be too classic rock and mellow. They are very much rock and roll, they have a great sound and range, each day as they broke in the sound improved more then I could imagine. I am really happy with them now, and would recommend them as a great do it all speaker.

I have a Vox AC50 that was loaded with a Celestion Greenback and a V30. Never really fell in love with the tone of those speakers. So, after much research, and a couple of phone conversations with Eminence (yes, they will actually talk with you on the phone), I went with a pair of the Private Jacks. HUGE improvement over the Celestions! Very warm, great highs (but not shrill), nice low-end. Absolutely made my amp come alive. Tone like you would not believe! If you want great speakers at a great price, look no further than Eminence. Made in the USA, and just smoother sounding overall compared to the Celestions I've owned. If you're on the fence about trying them, don't be. You will not regret buying these!

These are truly great speakers that have all the warmth of good Greenbacks with a little better top end.
