I now have 3 of these speakers and I've found them to be great blus rock/funk speakers for what I do, with the right amp. They tend to be on the bright side compared to the 12" Eminence speakers I have but that can work in your favor in a band mix. MAKE SURE you give them time to break in. There's a pretty big difference between the harsh, bright tone right out of the box and the more mellow top end it has after about 24 hours of hard playing. Such a big difference I almost sold my first one before it really broke in.
Of course it gets a 10 for features. It speakers as well as any speaker built with the same features!
I have a number of Eminence speakers and every one of them have been solidly built and don't have any imperfections. Very much like Celestion in that regard.
I think for the money here in the US or North America the Eminence speakers are a fantastic value. Built in the USA and they are just great speakers all around.

Get this speaker and put it in a Bugera V5 amp. The speaker matches extremely well with the V5 and all you need to do is take the metal reinforcing bar out of the V5 cabinet and it fits perfectly. This speaker turned my V5 which was kind of dark with very limited treble into a raging blues machine. Extremely rich sound - just the right amount of top end and a fairly tight bass with good balance throughout the tonal range. I like this speaker so much I'm thinking of using it on my next project. Great speaker at a great price!

Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
I installed this speaker in my Laney LC 15 tube combo and it is an ideal match for this amp. I thought about going with a Celestion G10 Greenback, because I wanted that "British" sound. After some research, I chose the Red Coat Ramrod instead.
The Red Coat costs much less than the Celestion and is made right here in the U.S. Like other Eminence speakers I've used, the Red Coat is very well made and can handle a lot of power. The magnet on this thing is huge! I like the red frame too.
Sound wise, this thing dishes out a very thick and fat midrange. It definately has a "British accent" but I wouldn't say that it is a Celestion clone, either. Clean or overdriven, this speaker sounds rich and articulate.
Eminence offers a number of options when it comes to guitar speakers. The Red Coat Ramrod is an excellent choice if you are looking for a high quality, cost-effective alternative to a Celestion.

Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
This speaker produces a louder and brighter sound and will give most players the ability to dial in almost any sound they want. Of course that depends on the kind of amp you are using. If you are using a modeling amp this speaker will work rather well for you.
Just installed this speaker into a 2009 Fender Super Champ XD. When was IMing with the Eminence customer service rep, he actually contacted Fender and asked them which Eminence speaker would be the best. Fender recommended this one. I have two Fender XDs. I plugged them in side by side and I could hear the difference right away. Both amps were on the exact same settings. The stock Fender speaker doesnt bring out the highs or middles very well but does bring out the lows rather well. It is also a softer and more of a darker sounding speaker. The RAMROD is a brighter and louder speaker and brings out the highs and mids really nice. The lows come out pretty good. However you have to turn the bass up if you want to hear more lows. Since I just installed the RAMROD it isnt broken in yet so I cant wait to hear what it sounds like when I do break it in. I have also order the Ragin Cajun for a different amp but will put it in the XD just to see what it sounds like since so many of the reviews I read had installed it in their XDs. Overall I am pleased I ordered it. I am always searching for a new sound and this definitely gives me a whole new range of sound. I highly recommend it. Definitely works well for Blues, Jazz and Classic Rock. Probably won't sound too good for heavy metal.
This is a heavy duty speaker with a solid magnet and well constructed. Very easy to install in probably almost any cabinet.
For the price you get an excellent speaker that produces an outstanding sound. Of course it depends on the style of music you play. I may order this speaker for another amp I own.
Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
I bought my son this speaker to replace the stock Fender for his Super Champ XD. He plays some heavier modern rock - so I chose this over the Rajin Cajun. I am amazed at the quality especially when compared to the stock speaker. This speaker makes a HUGE difference and holds itself together at much higher volumes. The clean is also very nice.
Music played on this speaker/amp combo (also swapped Fender tubes for JJs):
Avenged SevenfoldLinkin ParkMetallicaFoo FightersStaindManheim Steamroller!!
Rugged and heavy - nice big magnet.
looks great - solid build and love the Red color.
Excellent value - I also enjoyed being able to visit Eminence website and listen to sounds from each of the speaker types.
Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
I love this speaker! Hearing my son play is a pleasure! He plays a lot of Linkin Park, System of a Down, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold. I should also mention he plays some more mellow stuff and the clean sounds great as well. We switched over to JJ tubes and made sure to bias the amp. He's got an amp that will last a very long time.
Heavy magnet - nice look
I put this in my son's Super Champ XD. There is NO comparison b/w this speaker and Fender stock speaker. It's built very solid.
I love the Eminence website. You can actually listen to the sounds of each speaker! This is a definite winner! And I love the service of Musician's Friend.

Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
Agree with the reviewer above who recommended putting ONE of these in a Line 6 Spider III 2x10 as a replacement. I can see how two would be overkill. But I actually found that the Ramrod warmed up and fattened the Spider III's sound. Sounds more like a tube amp now with the Ramrod in place. Excellent value for this fantastic speaker - highly recommended.
Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
I decided to buy new speakers for my Line 6 Spider III 2x10 because when I maxed out the volume, the stock speakers were very prominent in the midrange (800-2KhZ) with a loss in high end detail. I put two Ramrods in and the result was too brittle with too many highs and lows. Then I mixed a stock speaker with a ramrod, then I got the best of both worlds. The speakers compliment each other beautifully. I can now max out my amp volume without losing much definition. Awesome speaker, but buy just one if you have the Line 6 Spider 2x10. I am primarily a metal player, so...take my opinion for what it's worth. I have not tried the speakers clean.
Comments about Eminence Red Coat Ramrod 10" 75W Guitar Speaker:
I found that when I turned my Line 6 2X10 up with the stock Celestions, I gained a lot of volume in the mids (800-2khz) and lost a bit of top end detail. Not unbearable, but not perfect. I bought two Ramrods and installed them. VERY scooped sound and overly exaggerated highs and lows at top volume. Brittle, even. Then I went with one stock speaker and one Ramrod. Absolute heaven even at maxed out volume. The speakers compliment each other so well and bring out definition you never though possible with this amp dimed out.Do yourself a favor and pick up ONE of these if you have a Spider Line 6 120 2X10.

I got 2 of these boys to replace the factory speakers inside my 10 yr old Epiphone EPSC-210 guitar amp. These things weigh a ton and the magnet is so strong it will make your eyes cross! The sound is amazing, just the tone I was looking for to suit my style, 100% happy! Can't go wrong with the Red Coat Ramrod.
