Comments about Eminence Red Coat The Tonker 12" 150W Guitar Speaker:

Great Speaker sounds great in a Fender Silverface Amp in my case a Music Master Bass Amp used for guitar. Increased the volume due to the higher DB of the speaker with great bass response and nice highs.Good all the way through the frequency range. I play classic country and classic rock and southern rock and this speaker sounds good with all these types of music.

Very full solid sound - nice mids

      By Super 400

Comments about Eminence Red Coat The Tonker 12" 150W Guitar Speaker:

This speaker has a very full, rich sound. The nice thing about this speaker is that it does both exceptional cleans that are very round and articulate (will make your single coils have a lot of big warmth) and great overdrive and distortion. I had the Governor, but it was a one trick pony - all gobs of thick overdrive with too much grainy upper mids and the cleans were to thick and muddy. The Tonkerlite also responds very quickly - great for those players who don't like too much sag or compression when they're trying to play some precise cleans. I did find that this speaker can sound a little TOO big for humbuckers....but this is handled easily by dialing down the mids on your amp. You'll notice that this speaker is all about mids and reponds very sensitively to your mid range on your amp. For my money, it is the best speaker out there for someone trying to make a 1 X 12" amp sound bigger for stage work. Have fun!
The Tonkerlite version - very close cound to this with the neo mag - is what I own.
Eminence quality is always tops. Nothing of theirs has failed that I have owned.

Sounds great in my Blues Junior

      By Cap-Bg6ew

Comments about Eminence Red Coat The Tonker 12" 150W Guitar Speaker:

I swapped out the original Jensen speaker for the Tonker. After about 20 hours break in I found the classic Fender tone I have always heard in my head. In this situation this is a very balanced speaker. The key is to allow enough time for break in. When I first installed this speaker it had harsh boxy midrange and very little bass. The midrange smoothed out and more bass became available as the break in period continued. Very rich harmonics no mud even when over driven.

Comments about Eminence Red Coat The Tonker 12" 150W Guitar Speaker:

I bought it, installed it & love it. Very crisp, clean & notes are defined. You can get that driving bass & those lead tones. The clean channel is great too. I installed this into a Marshall mg50dfx & i wonder why they did not install it themselves!
