Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
I know a lot of people have praise for the celestion alnico blue... however.. having had that speaker in my AC15... I wanted to try this one. WOW this one isnt exactly the blue ..but its freaking close and it isnt as trebly so i like it better being a tele player. it made my amp really open up...but it takes a while to break in. So play the heck outta it ...dont run a stereo through your amp.. be a man and put the hours on it yourself.. thats almost as bad as buying a relic'ed guitar. or washing your blackbelt so it looks like you are more experienced than you are. yeah put the miles on it and take care of it. and this speaker will take care or you.
Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
I bought this speaker to go in my Valve Jr cab and it really brings that vintage tone out. The highs and lows are crystal clear. I will never stray away from Alnico magnets again. The power handling is perfect for a Class A amp. The only reason for the 4.5 in value is it's a bit pricey.
Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
I have been using the Red Fang in a 50 watt Peavey Valve King for over a year now. I took a long time to break it in but is well worth the effort. The tone is clear and clean but will overdrive in such a bueatiful way. I use this for jazz, roots blues and classic rock. distinguish the notes
Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
This is half the price of the celestion Blue and to me sounds better. This speaker handles the low end better then the Blues I have had. To me the bottom end on the CB's can turn to mush fast. This speaker is a better way to go and a lot cheaper.IMHO
Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
I replaced the speaker in my Valve King 1x12. This is a great speaker. The clarity is remarkable. I am playing vintage rock, 70s rock and jazz through this setup and am finding it excels in all of them. One caveat. This speaker is rated 30 watts rms so be careful if you put it in an amp with more power than that.
Comments about Eminence Red Fang 12" 50W Guitar Speaker:
If these speakers were lost / stolen / damaged - I would definately replace them. They faithfully recreate the Alnico british tone with lots of rich harmonics and a bell like tone that sounds incredible. Smooth compression at higher volumes makes for a fantastically rich overdriven sound. I was borrowing a friends Crate 4x12 cab for a while and wasn't sure if I really liked the sound of the '66 Fender Bandmaster I had recently purchased. Little did I know the problem was the cab, not the amp. The combination of the Fender and the 2x12 Red Fangs sounds better than I could ever have imagined. The only comparison I can make is to my friend's AC30 with the Bluebacks; also a great sounding amp. If you buy these speakers you will not be disappointed.
