Find your tone with the turn of a knob.

The Eminence ReignMaker with patent-pending FDM technology puts tonal control at your fingertips. Just turn the modulator knob to adjust speaker output and amplifier interaction, helping you find that sweet spot of saturated tube tone but at a significantly lower volume. Tweak the knob for a wide range of tones: More attenuation affords a warmer tone while less attenuation restores volume and brightness.

    not great

Comments about Eminence Reignmaker FDM Tone Adjustable 12" Guitar Speaker - 8 ohm:

I'm returning it as defective since it is defective.
The sound when playing alone is great, but it easily gets lost in the band. The knob that adjusts the attenuation sticks and gets louder on full cut then the posiotion just before it. Overall a nice sound for playing in your room but lost in the mix
again, that knob sometimes turns, other time jams. note: it no longer goes to full volume

    It attenuates volume

Comments about Eminence Reignmaker FDM Tone Adjustable 12" Guitar Speaker - 8 ohm:

I'm having good times with the FDM, gave it a 9 only because of the tones at high gain with FDM dimed.
These sound Celestionesque, warm cleans, crunchy enough, top end @ distortion isn't as brittle as C's, the FDM really does effectively attenuate volume, little change in tone/feel per clean amp settings, however if you dime the FDM hi gain tones sound like you are running active p'ups and comparitive feel, FDM at 50% reduces this effect, that's why I didn't give it a 10, works just fine with Lexicon Signature 284 (class a, el84's, 3 watts) Egnater Rebel 20 (2 to 20 watts) and GT Solo 75 (75 watts, EL34's) If you like the tone of active p'ups for recording/live diming the FDM could be a plus, and the effect isn't as noticeable if you feed it active p'ups.

As with any attenuation method, you'll be cutting bass and mids and boosting highs/presence, but no worries unless you like to plug your amp into non FDM cabs and back, and even given that both cabs should dial up quickly and easily.
Solid build, soak knob has a good feel.
Spendy, but so are outboard attenuators...less attenuation than outboard device but IMHO FDM has better feel.
