I own two of these cases. Simply put, this case cannot be beat for the money. This stylish case fits the instrument perfectly and firmly cradles the neck. Unless you are prone to dropping your case out of 10th story windows or shipping them, this is more case than you will ever need for a fraction of the cost. The "older" Epiphone cases had a single clasp on the back (hinge side) of the case that was about as useful as a parachute on a submarine. Most folks forgot to unlatch before opening, resulting in a broken clasp. Epiphone/Gibson wised up, because the back clasp is no longer a feature on these cases!

I don't own an sg guitar but many of the players I play with do and they own this case. The case works well for sg's. Guitars fit snuggly and the case provides decent protection for simple carrying around from gig to gig or rehearsals. Doubt it would hold up on flights but I haven't tested that so I really can't say on that.

I own an Epiphone Nighthawk and this case is the one recommened for it. I got one immediately and is wouldn't work. The body fit with no issues and was held in place securely. Problem with the case and guitar is that the neck of the guitar wouldn't lie down horizontally. With how the guitar was held in the case the neck would be curved upwards ever so slight that when I would attemp to close the case the top would press down on the neck which could have caused damage. I tried 4 cases from the newer versions out to older ones from the 80s and 90s. Not really what I wanted.

Great case for sg's from what I can tell but for nighthawks avoid. I ended up finding an older godin rectangle case for my nighthakw.

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

I bought this case for my son after I gave him my old Epiphone SG that I bought in 1983. I had been using an old converted acoustic guitar case all those years ago but figured it was time to have a proper case especially since I am passing it on. It's a great case and for the price hard to beat! My only complaint, and this goes for pretty much everything, is the made in China label. I understand that is just the way things are these days but I try and buy Made in USA as much as I can.

Good quality out of the box. Fits my lefty Epi G-400 Pro perfectly. Slim, no spare room around the guitar. Good padding. Three latches, one locking with keys.

I own a "Gibson" SG but didn't want to spend the extra hundred or more for the same case just because it says "Gibson" on it.

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

I recently bought a Gibson SG and needed a hard shell case. Instead of paying extra for a Gibson case, I bought the Epiphone. It's great. It serves the purpose, nice soft inside. Hard shell exterior. It's the best case for the money.

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

I was concerned that this case wouldn't be a good fit for my Epiphone G-400. However, when I placed my guitar into it, I was amazed at how it fit perfectly. I'm confident it's the best protection when I hand it over to the airlines for my upcoming trip from the U.S. to Australia where I live. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about the scrapes and scratches which the airlines will add.

The Nighthawk needs a rolled wash cloth on the lower bout to make a perfect fit, the case is well built and could last forever.

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

I love everything about this case except for an odor from the inside. I hope it disappears over time. The case is compact and nice looking with 3 hasps and it also locks. My guitars never leave the house but if they aren't in my hands they are in my cases.I'm sure some people that gig may want a more protective case but these do the job for me. Unless you know your equipment is gonna get abused then these will do the job.Great product for the price. I have another Epi case for my NightHawk and a third case for my EJ-160E John Lennon. The NightHawk and Lennon cases didn't have the nasty odor. Open them and smell only the wood from the guitars. Best smell in the world!!! So unless you are rough on your stuff I highly recommend these at the price they are available.

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

Got this for my G-400, wich fits perfectly and snugly. Couldn't imagine demanding anything else from a case for that guitar. Has a lock with 2 keys and plenty enough storage room for strings, picks, capo, etc. The only thing criticism is balance, as it is easy to tip down when resting on it's thin side. However, it's all good because nothing's getting broken. Nice case for the price and perfect fit for the Epiphone SG.

Bought this for my Epiphone Nighthawk Custom Reissue. The lower bout fits well, not so much the upper bout of the body. Will have to use some foam wedges to get a snug fit all around, but that won't necessarily be a bad thing!

Comments about Epiphone SG Hardshell Case:

I recently purchased a new Gibson SGJ. Gibson is shipping the less expensive models with gig bags. I wanted a hard case.

I didn't want to spend the money on a Gibson branded case, so I bought an aftermarket case that just didn't fit very well. The guitar could move around quite a bit. The other brand is advertised as an SG case, but I'm guessing they sell that same case for other guitars (generic fit). I sent it back and bought the Epiphone case. The guitar fits nicely in the Epiphone case. It's not as plush as the Gibson case that comes with the high end Gibson guitars, but it works quite well for the price.
