These Earthwoods are the only strings I use. I've tried all kinds of brands before and these get the most bang for the buck. The tone is fantastic. For awhile anyway. Depending on how often you play these strings will need to be changed every 3-5 weeks to keep that nice fresh tone. I don't mind changing strings every month and for the price they are worth it. Other brands may last twice as long but are three times the price. And the new tone of these are just as nice as high end strings. Plus the wide array of gauge to choose from is a plus. I use these on one guitar and the med-light on another. Bottom line: these strings are worth it! Get the value pack! If you absolutely hate changing strings you'd be better off paying the big money for that high end brand everybody talks about.

I've been playing for about 20 years and have never had a set of strings fall off so quickly. You constantly have to adjust the tuning, the tone fell flat within a week, and they feel really rough after only a week of playing.

Replace Your 12's for Better Playability

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I had Martin SP 12's on my Martin OMCPA4 and the sound was brittle. I knew I had to find strings that were a better match for the Sapele. A friend suggested these and I tried them with a little hesitation because I thought the lighter gauge would buzz and/or weaken projection. I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent woody sound and tonal balance across all 6 strings. Even better, the slightly lighter strings on the Martin Performance Neck yielded a lively playablility that brought the instrument to life. I'm happy with the strings and happier than ever with the Sapele Martin.
I have always preferred 80/20 Bronze wound over any other alloy or configuration for acoustic guitars.
Clearly a quality product.
Great strings at a compettive price.

I've been looking for a replacement for the very expensive coated strings because of the expense. These strings, although they're are not coated actually feel like they are.
They have a great tone, are fairly cheap, and they feel very good compared to other non coated strings. I'm sold on Earthwood......I'm going to by them by the dozen.

So far, so good!! Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 bronze light acoustic strings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

Used Ball strings way back in the day (1960's) when I first started playing. They were good then and are still good. I've only had a set of these Earthwood strings on my guitar for a few days now, but they sound great and feel better, too. I'll know more after I've had a chance to use them for a while and play a gig or two with them, but as I say, so far, so good!!
Like the lighter guage. Have been using Elixir Polyweb lights. Will know more after they break in good and will have a chance to see how they hold up over the long haul.
Still too early to tell, but the sound I'm getting is great. Just hope it lasts a while.
Can't beat the deal buying 6 at a time. Well worth it.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I just recently picked my guitar back up after about 20 years of not playing. I have Gibson Hummingbird that I always had and the did use Martin strings on. I really got the bug about playing and ended up buying a Yamaha R 700 as well as a Seagull S6 (with a Seagull Artist Mosaic on the way). While talking to Josh on MF one day about strings he told me about these Earthwoods--lighter gauge--.11-.52. He swore by them. I had a credit with MF so I bought two sets. They are as good on my Seagull S6 as the Martin's ever were and easier to play (I finger pick mostly) and the combination of the full sound of the S6 and the Ernie Ball Earthwoods is a perfect combination. I've had them on for three weeks already and play sever hours every day and they still sound bright and full of tone. I put the other set on my Yamaha just recently and they sound as good as the Martins ever did. Whether they will remain crisp remains to be seen (each guitar is different). But in anticipation of getting my Seagull Artist Mosaic soon I've decided to buy four 6 packs of the Ernie Ball Earthwood Strings with my certificate from Backstage pass. I couldn't ask for a sweeter deal than that.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

Yes, there are supposedly better strings out there and certainly much higher priced strings. BUT, at the price for the bundle pack these are equal. IF you want strings that last 3x longer you will pay 3x more, so whats the point ? Plus those 3x longer strings have a coating on them which I do not like. As a regular performer and regular working musician as well as recording, I do not expect strings to last more than a few weeks,I change them very often to maintain consistent tone and action. These strings fit the bill, bright consistent tone set to set. I have been using them for several years now with no issues on Taylor , Guild and Breedlove guitars.

I play at least an hour each day. The last set I put on was about eight weeks ago. The strings are in tune when I pick up the guitar and are still as bright as when I first put them on. After eight weeks they're starting to look corroded, so I am going to change them soon.

Here's the deal, a six pack bundle pack of these strings cost about twice what a single set of hi priced strings cost. those sets do not last 3 times longer , not if you are paying attention to bright tone. I find these strings have excellent tone when fresh sure, after about 3 or 4 seeks of regular gigging they start to fade, thats over 32 hrs of just gigs, not including practice in between, How long do we want strings to last, just as soon as we start touching them they begin to fade. Some of us have more natural finger oil than others so naturally some of us will get longer life. I string these on a Taylor 414, they are very bright and and consistent from set to set. I have a hi priced set on the Taylor now and I can say from my own judgement I feel they are lacking in brightness. Going back Earthwounds, I generally use 11's...

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I've been a devotee of Ernie Ball's Regular Slinky Electric guitar strings for a LONG time now. I needed to change my acoustic strings so I ducked out to the closest shop, which was actually a record store, and these were the only acoustic strings they had. So I bought a pack and threw them on. Excellent!!! I ordered the 6-pack without hesitattion. Much like Ernie's electric strings these suckers seem to offer the perfect balance of feel, tone, and value. I mostly use my acoustic for songwriting and I'll say that chords sound VERY full with these strings. I generally write my music first and let that suggest the vocal melody to me. These strings deliver a very nuanced response which has already helped me to write words for one piece I've been jamming on for a few months that seemed to be stuck before. So yeah, I'm glad to have a few spare sets of these in the gig bag, and I'm intending to share these with some friends and see what they think too. You can't go wrong at this price.

I'm a 53 year old rocker that still plays in a band with several other old guys. I have relied on EB strings for 37 years. I haver NEVER been disappointed. I have rarely ever broken a string on my acoustic unless it was already on there for nearly a year. That is about my frequency of change for my acoustics. I play several and i record with all of them. The sound of new EB Bronzers is absolutely unbelievable. You'll never be sorry.

Strummed and picked as hard as I could and they were clean as could be - and they beat the Martins for clarity plus warmth. I will use these again!

Smart buy for the barely making it musician.

I prefer 11's over other gauges. The tone is a bit thinner, but easier to play. These stay in tune, and can take heavy strumming. I'm glad I got a box of these because they are very good strings.

I won't be buying these again.

I've been playing for about 20 years and have never had a set of strings fall off so quickly. You constantly have to adjust the tuning, the tone fell flat within a week, and they feel really rough after only a week of playing.
