These Earthwoods are the only strings I use. I've tried all kinds of brands before and these get the most bang for the buck. The tone is fantastic. For awhile anyway. Depending on how often you play these strings will need to be changed every 3-5 weeks to keep that nice fresh tone. I don't mind changing strings every month and for the price they are worth it. Other brands may last twice as long but are three times the price. And the new tone of these are just as nice as high end strings. Plus the wide array of gauge to choose from is a plus. I use these on one guitar and the med-light on another. Bottom line: these strings are worth it! Get the value pack! If you absolutely hate changing strings you'd be better off paying the big money for that high end brand everybody talks about.

I've been playing for about 20 years and have never had a set of strings fall off so quickly. You constantly have to adjust the tuning, the tone fell flat within a week, and they feel really rough after only a week of playing.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I prefer 11's over other gauges. The tone is a bit thinner, but easier to play. These stay in tune, and can take heavy strumming. I'm glad I got a box of these because they are very good strings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I just recently picked my guitar back up after about 20 years of not playing. I have Gibson Hummingbird that I always had and the did use Martin strings on. I really got the bug about playing and ended up buying a Yamaha R 700 as well as a Seagull S6 (with a Seagull Artist Mosaic on the way). While talking to Josh on MF one day about strings he told me about these Earthwoods--lighter gauge--.11-.52. He swore by them. I had a credit with MF so I bought two sets. They are as good on my Seagull S6 as the Martin's ever were and easier to play (I finger pick mostly) and the combination of the full sound of the S6 and the Ernie Ball Earthwoods is a perfect combination. I've had them on for three weeks already and play sever hours every day and they still sound bright and full of tone. I put the other set on my Yamaha just recently and they sound as good as the Martins ever did. Whether they will remain crisp remains to be seen (each guitar is different). But in anticipation of getting my Seagull Artist Mosaic soon I've decided to buy four 6 packs of the Ernie Ball Earthwood Strings with my certificate from Backstage pass. I couldn't ask for a sweeter deal than that.

Good Ernie Ball strings. Wish they lasted longer but don't we wish everything lasted longer?....The 2004 has the gauges that I like in a acoustic. Not too heavy on the fingers but not so light they would buzzzz.....

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

I have been putting these strings on my four acoustic guitars for four years. I like the heavy bass sound and the ringing sound you get from hitting everthing just right. These strings will do it for ya, but your playing technique is what produces the sound you want. That's true for every guitar player, and also to decide for yourself what strings you like. These are great mid-heavy strings for a blues player like me. You may like a lighter set of strings, or a heavier set of strings. That's up to you, but these strings will take a beating!

I've used these on several of my guitars that "came & went" & they do sound a bit different on different guitars. Overall, they work very well. My only problem is the 3rd. string would break under hard strumming. I blamed this on sharp edges on the tuning key, so I can't really say it was the strings. I've got my money's worth out of every set I've used.

Good strings for the money, especially if you go for the 6-pack deal. I've had brand new Martins break on me while stringing; no problem with these.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2004 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings 6 Pack:

Yes, there are supposedly better strings out there and certainly much higher priced strings. BUT, at the price for the bundle pack these are equal. IF you want strings that last 3x longer you will pay 3x more, so whats the point ? Plus those 3x longer strings have a coating on them which I do not like. As a regular performer and regular working musician as well as recording, I do not expect strings to last more than a few weeks,I change them very often to maintain consistent tone and action. These strings fit the bill, bright consistent tone set to set. I have been using them for several years now with no issues on Taylor , Guild and Breedlove guitars.
