Out of all the acoustic strings I have tried, these have the best playability. They are very flexible and easy to fret with very minimal finger noise. The only thing I did not like about these strings was the fact that they did not have the new string brite tone, they sound dull compaired to the adamas strings that I was replacing.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2146 Slinky Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Tried Elixir Nanowebs and Martin SPs and finally settled on these for playing slide on guitars in open D tunings. Not only do the Ernie Balls sound more natural, they break in faster. Regular Slinkies may have to be changed more often, but their superior tone quality makes them worth the bother.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2146 Slinky Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These are the best strings found for the money. Its hard to beat them, only true high dollar elixors sound a little better but not much. I recommend them to both friends and family. Gave them as a present this year. They are great stocking stuffers.

    They hold there tone.
My hobby is trying new strings. I like changing them alot. I put these on my Larrivee J-03R. I thought my favs were John Pearse Phos.Bronze, but after about two months it was hard to take these Slinkys off. They still sounded good. I also have them on a cheap Takamine I bought. I think these are the best strings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2146 Slinky Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These strings work pretty well. They are definitely worth the price if you just need to put some strings on an old guitar. The sound could use a little more of the low end so if you have a pretty nice acoustic you may want to go with something a little more expensive.
They sound fine. They have a little more of a "Metally" sound for lack of a better word. Maybe not so balanced of a sound. They could use some warmer tones in the mid and lows.
The price was right if you are looking to just put some new strings on an old guitar.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2146 Slinky Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I was replacing an old pair of strings I had on a Martin DC-18 ogte. Originally, it had elixirs on it, which I've always had a love hate relationship with. I love the life of the strings, but I hate the slight tinny-ness of the tone and the price. Anyway the elixirs where the first set of strings I had on the guitar they were put on when the guitar was bought. And I had always thought the guitar never had a full enough sound. As elixirs do they finally strated to get dull sounding and hairy looking.

So I wanted to get some cheap, non coated, phosphor bronze strings for the guitar. I got a set of these and they really widened the tonal range of the guitar. The basses where more present than before and the tone was much more complex than with the elixirs. Now I'm not a first timer. I know new strings sound better. But the difference in tone was more than just the newness of the strings. I've never had old strings rob bass from the tone of a guitar. But I have had elixir strings do that. These strings do have the good old shreek when you move you hand while still holding any pressure on the strings, but the tone is just fantastic. Like I said before I've never experience such and increase in depth of tone from a guitar string. Well done ernie keep up the good work.

Oh and this is not coming from a slinky string nut. I hate their electric guitar strings. They are awful. If you're looking for a good acoustic strings at a great price look into these.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2146 Slinky Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These strings are a great value. They have great volume and they have a longer useful lifespan than any 80/20 strings I've used. My musician son and I have switched all of our guitars over to these and are very pleased.
