The treble side strings are nice.... really nice if you ask me but the Low E is horrible :/ It sounds stupidly bright, to be fair I am usin a Strat but its really not what I expected from a .52, 3 on features because well.... they're strings? :L On the plus side I havent noticed them getting too dirty and Ive played them everyday for 2 weeks, prefer D'Addario's Med Top/Heavy Bottom set though.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

The strings that came with my new electric guitars are a bit thin sounding, especially the bass strings. They were a little too thin and buzzy for my taste. (I am not a heavy metal player.) I'm used to a fuller bass sound with solid crystal highs and that's what you get with these strings. All Ernie Ball electric strings are top quality, but the Skinny Top/Heavy bottom are perfect for all-around solid electric guitar sound, especially rock and blues. I can bend them as much as I want and they spring back in tune. Thanks Ernie Ball and Musician's Friend! They have provided elevated excitement and enjoyment by transforming good sounding electric guitars to great sounding guitars.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I got these strings for my friend since his old ones were on there last leg. After putting them on, we noticed a difference, a good difference!! Having played mainly in D standard, Drop C and occasionally Drop A (Korn) these strings held very well and let you hear every note from Power Chords to Pinch Harmonics no note is left dull or bum.

        Excellent strings for hardcore jamming!!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I've used these strings for quite sometime now. (Approx. 3 or 4 years.) They sound great, on a clean setting and heavy saturated distortion setting. I like the thickness of the Low E,A, and D strings. In a clean tone setting, they provide great bass, supporting midrange, and clean highs. In a distortion setting, depending upon your taste (Mine is very heavily distorted to a point)they punch through cleanly and allow tough power chords, and at the same time give a great clean lead sound when soloing. The strings themselves are very durable, and last longer than most other strings. However, if your not used to playing with heavy gauges in the bottom-end, they may cause you to get tired faster. To even that out, they'll make your dexterity increase in strength. Hope this helps, and keep rockin'.

I tune to drop D alot and they really held up to the task. I bend my leads all over the place so the smaller high string were great. I have tried alot of others, none compare.

Just what I needed for detuning my guitars. I tune down a whole step to D and these
strings are just what the Doctor Ordered!! Perfect tension and CRAZY sustain! Bright
sounding with bite and a nice tight bottom end, especially on my Les Paul! I also tune
down to Drop C and it still has attack and attitude.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I really like these strings. I played Super Slinkys for 5 years exclusively, and they were good strings, but after hearing Daron Malikan day he used heavier strings, I decided to look into it. I heard Dick Dale used Piano strings, Jack White was using huge strings, and so was Kurt Cobain, so I went to my local music shop to buy new strings. I play 3 guitars with 3 turnings, so i decided to buy 3 different gauges of strings. I bought one pack of Regular, one Not Even Slinky, and one pack of Skinny Top/Heavy Bottoms. I put the regs on a standard tuned axe, the not evens on a whole step down guitar, and skinny top/heavy bottoms on a guitar tuned half down. They were by far my favorite strings. I love the feel of them under my fingers as I'm banging away at power chords, and the feel of them shredding fast. I've sense switched from regs to hybrid, and from not evens, to another set of ST/HB. Most Guitar players have to make a choice; light shredder's strings, or loud heavy strings. That is no longer the case. These things are the middle ground, and trust me, it's no compromise. They are perfect for a guitar player who wants to hit his guitar as hard as he can, but still likes to kill the solos. If you buy these strings, you will not be disappointed, and for that small price, what's stopping you?

Comments about Ernie Ball 2215 Nickel Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

So, I have had these strings (Skinny Top Heavy Bottom) on my Ibanez S420 for about 2 or 3 months and they have lasted this whole time with no issue. The strings sound pretty good, my only thing is that I had to change all my settings on my PODXT Live to make everything sound the way I wanted it to, and I still haven't gotten the tone I wanted. I play in standard and drop D with these most of the time. I got them so I could have a thicker tone on my bottom strings. It works, but be prepared to change your tone settings on your amp or pedals. I am thinking about going back to Super Slinkys because I can't get the pinch harmonics that I love to add on my bottom strings as well as I did on the Supers. This is probably because I'm staying in D and E. So, if you want a thicker sound and don't use pinch harmonics that often on your bottom strings (or at all) get these. They sound great and the durability is amazing to me. Also helps that I got these for a great price a pack during a sale. Hope this was helpful.

I play a lot of Hendrix and like to get a good thick bassy sound which is why I'm always pushing myself to get heavier and heavier strings. These are perfect because the strings you bend, are still playable while the bottom strings are nice and thick. I play mostly in standard tuning but these also work well in any drop tuning. The only problem is how long it takes for the lower strings to fully stretch and stay in tune. I dont think I'll ever go back to standard .10s. I recommend them for any genre!

For versatility in tuning for all types of music, it's hard to beat these strings. I wouldn't recommend them for standard tuning. They are great for drop C, a little loose for drop B but you can make them work. Overall, perfect for any metalhead.

I don't why so many people use these strings. These have got to be the weakest least lasting strings out there. These are the only strings where one of their bass strings broke on me while I was playing. And that nice twangy sound they have when they are fresh will only last you about a day (depending on how sweaty your hands are) and not too long after that there will be a pile of gunk on them. Bottom Line they are weak, short lasting and badly made strings.

As a gigging musician I depend upon my strings to make it through the night and not let me down. Being tuned to C# and playing heavy music requires a heavey string to help maintain tension, and quality construction to prevent rusting. The light top end allows for easy bends and slippery fretting of notes and the heavey lower strings will help bring out the harmonic dynamics of any guitar/ amp combination. There is a reason I have used them for over 10 years....THEY NEVER LET ME DOWN!

These strings are great. You get lots of tone because they are nice and thick, but the high strings aren't the thickness of a piano wires so you can bend the heck out of them. Also, they stay bright for a long time and are almost impossible to break. I play mostly blues and Zappa on a LP Deluxe through a second-hand Champ and these strings just cannot be beat.
