I've been playing guitar for about 15 years or so and switched to these strings almost exclusively about maybe 8 years ago. The Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10 gauge is my go-to electric guitar string. Sometimes I'll use a heavier gauge to set a guitar up for slide, or a lighter gauge to make bending easier on a guitar I'm only gonna use for recording solos. But by and large if I've got a string of gigs coming up, or plan to do some extended practicing or song-writing, I'll drop a set of these on all my guitars. I think they're the perfect combination of feel, tone, and value. The name "Slinky" says it all. To me they're all about the feel. These strings bend well but still feel substantial. They're firm enough that chords sound fantastic but there's enough "give" to them that soloing is a joy; but they don't feel flimsy at all. My only qualm is they don't last as long as some other brands might; they seem to peak early in terms of optimal tone and feel, and go dead quickly... but they're not very expensive either. And one should change their strings routinely anyway. While they're in that sweet spot of their playing life there's nothing better as far as I'm concerned. For value you can't beat these multi-packs. I order a box about once a year and I'm pretty much good to go.

Great strings, but pricing is a little innacurate for "Free" bonus packs
Doing the Math, you can buy one set for $3.99 Buying 10 at $3.99
    Buying 10 at $3.99 would be $39.90

OR you can "buy 10 and get 2 Free" for $44.99
Therefore, the "2 Free" costs you an extra 5 Bucks... not really free, now is it Friends???

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Slinky Lime Guitar Strings - Buy 10, Get 2 Free:

Being a professional guitarist for many bands over the past 30+ years and currently playing with the Todd Coleman Band and teaching 60 students per week at Columbia Arts Academy, Colimbia,S.C. I don't believe there is a more consistent tension, strength and tone string out there. I use many different guitars, but mostly guitars with the Floyd Rose "floating" tremolo system. If you are familiar w/ Floyd type terms you will know how important it is to have these advantages. They come in vacuum packed, foil looking, sealed envelope w/ each individual string in its own paper envelope for ease of identification. I won't use anything else! If I can't get my Ernie Balls, I'll leave the old ones on until I can. Buying by the dozen saves money and keeps you well stocked if you use them as much as I. I've tried them all! With only GHS Boomers coming in a close second.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Slinky Lime Guitar Strings - Buy 10, Get 2 Free:

I've been playing for 30 years and gigging for most of that and I love Ernie Ball Stings. I'll occasionally try another but always come back to Ernie's. Any string will lose crispness if not changed often. This is not always a bad thing because as it can warm up the sound. Depending on how much I play, i change every 2-4 weeks. I haven't had an Ernie Ball string break in years (knock on wood). I can't say that for other brands i've tried. Good solid, dependable string at a great price.

I've been playing, repairing and building guitars for well over 35 years now. Tone and brightness is what I look for in a guitar string. These are the real deal. They may not last as long as others, but they don't cost an arm and leg either. Their tone is right up there with the best on the market.

can't beat the price for the best strings made. I started playing in the 60's and have used every string from Black Diamond, yeah that's all we had to chose from or the way more exspensive Fender or Gibsons. When Ernie Ball's first came out, it was like WOW, what is this, something that doesn't kill my fingers trying to bend a wound G string. I've tried them all in recent years, but, always go back to Ernie Balls. Best tone, best feel, best price. period.

I've played for many years and am always looking for that little extra umph in my tone. I have started using these and find them very pleasing to the ear. They last quite a long time as well, but I do wipe my strings down with a shop towel and some WD40 after I play. I use these on my Strats and Teles too. I like the 10's as they stay in tune a lot better and they don't break on me. I have several guitars and go through a lot of strings so bulk is always better price wise.
