These strings aren't that great. They're not bad, persay, but not that good, either. The tone they have is actually pretty good, although there are a little more lows than I like. They compare rather closely to Dean Markleys in tone. But after that, they start to fail. These strings don't seem to stay in tune as good as others. I had to stretch Ernie Ball strings more than most other strings I've tried to make them stay in tune. And even then, they don't stay as well as the others. Also, both sets of EB strings I've played have a stiff 'G' string, which I don't like. Also, that same string seems to be a bit quiter than the rest. Maybe it's made like that to offset the Stratocaster pickup poles? I don't know, either way, I would recommend Dean Markley or D'Adarrio strings before these.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

Depends on what guitar you put them on... I find them to be brighter sounding than a few other brands. This can be good or bad depending on what you want. If your guitar is already on the bright, trebly side, you might want to try something else like d'addario. If other strings sound too dark, bassy on your guitar, then try these.

I use these on all my guitars they work great on all of them. The price is right, they bend
easy, I play a lot of blues ,and have arthritis in my hands so I need easy to bend. They sound great to me, and I have never broken one.
Been useing these strings for many years . I've tried many othhers but keep coming back.
for the money they can't be beat.
Love the way they bend and they stay tuned.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I've used many different brands of strings over the years however I finally turned to EBSS's and after using them for just a few weeks now I already kick myself for not going to them sooner. This is the ultimate go to string for me because of the great tone they give off, their long life and their easiness to bend. I have yet to break one yet and I sometimes get crazy on them with my strumming. From beginners to pros I would at least recommend giving them a try.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been playing guitar for a few months and although I am not the best player out there, I really do care about my sound. I bought these strings to go on my Dean VX and it sounds like a totally different guitar. The tone is absolutely beautiful and the strings are very durable. I took a chance on these and now I realize that these are the strings I'll be using for a long time. Buy a pack and try them out today!!

            Slinky Indeed.

            By Beatriz Cruz

            from San antonio, Tx

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought these strings a couple of months ago, and It is not a bad choice at all. Once i put them in, the next day i used them and they have good sound when using distortion or gain. They are slinky indeed, which allowed me to bend the strings easier than i would normally if i had regular strings on my electric. They were heavier than my usual strings, and for a first time buyer of slinky strings i liked them alot. The only thing that i would say would be a negative is that if you are not comfortable with the easy bending, then these strings are not for you. I like the bending because i play alot of harder rock and metal, but when i first started using the strings it took a little bit of adjustment, which is not completely a bad thing because i'd say when getting new things for anything , it takes adjustment. So it's a good buy if you want to try it, (:

            A revelation..

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I have used Diaddario XL and Blue Steel strings (all 9 gauge), and these strings beat them all. The strings drastically improved the tone of my guitar both unplugged and amplified. They sustain better and are comfortable to bend. However, I wouldn't recommend them for amplified clean channel. Otherwise, the strings are a great buy and I cannot wait to put them on all my guitars.
