Comments about Ernie Ball 2241 Hybrid Slinky RPS 9 Electric Guitar Strings:
Love the strings but keep in mind if you don't have doulble locking system (flyd rose type brige), like my prs se single cut is a hard taile bridge and even with locking tuners these strings can slip out of tune espically if not played on for a while, but that can happen with any guitar... but even constan play the g and sometims d string slip out of tune the most atlest on my prs not my jackson. Thats not much of a real problem for me but can be for some other guitarists out there.
I love eb hybris slinks to begin with the rps are not as bright as the nickle or as durable as the titanium. The last reviewer ... knocked them well ... .09's are not suited for drop tunings as low as C any how... .9's can take 1/2, whole step, drop d (and doule drop d), and some slight mild drop custome tunings... but for really low drop tunings below d go thicker guages.
Verry good all round nice warm tone I use them on a jackson dxmg dinky and my prs se single cut, both (jackson has sd invader 8b, my prs has sd sh-5b custom) have warm sounding(hot) pickups the strings low end is warm articulate.... the high strings are bright and not overpowering verry drurable and great for bending and vibrato. Like and strings over time start sounding a little flat (low end) and dull (highs) when itsa time to change them out.
Little more than the nickle but worth it!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2241 Hybrid Slinky RPS 9 Electric Guitar Strings:
I always use ernie balls, I love them. I usually use gause .11s though due to the fact I play in drop c. I thought what the heck, I'll try them on my ibanez xpt700 since I've started to shred more on it. I needed looser strings to play better cause tight isn't always good. I reajusted my xpt to float with .9s on it and tuned it to drop c. I pulled up the bar and the bottom string broke. I cant belive ernie ball failed me after all this time...
