Perfect for Telecaster! Tames the shrill metallic fizz that nickel wrap are known for. Pure nickel sustain smoothly with enough top end chime to project that classic tele sound. I use 10-46 on telecasters, 9-42 & 8-38 on PRS guitars. I find different gauges offer a different feel and sound which gives me more options and solves the problem of which gauge to use. For some reason all guitars-pickups-amps respond differently to strings in my opinion. But of course this is just my rational thought as I've done enough experimenting to find what works for me. After way to much money being lost and enough brand names to compile a short novel has led me to EB pure nickels. At this time my heart has come closer to becoming more pure! That being said maybe St. Peter will put in a good word to see I'm trying & willing to behave more purely. Bottom line put on some pure nickel's and experience what being pure is all about.

Long, long time Ernie Ball string user here...over two and a half decades worth. Been a die hard fan of their regular Slinkys and RPS Slinkys for the majority of that time. I would occasionally try other strings but would always come back to the Slinkys primarily for their natural, honest tone. They just seem to make my Gibson guitars sound more Gibson like, almost as if they were made to be used with Gibsons. I read about these strings, and since I'm somewhat of a purist, and that is spending years developing my own sound, I thought these might be an improvement and worth a try.

I play primarily in a cover band that plays out often performing classic hard rock and metal. I only use Gibson guitars and Marshall 100w half stacks and know exactly what I want to hear. These strings just didn't deliver nearly as good as the standard Slinkys. The seem to lack output and clarity with an odd voice that just doesn't sound right.. The lows are reduced, and the mids are not as well defined. On the plus side they feel great. Easy to bend and slide also finding their tune quickly and staying there. They do tend to sound *warmer* not as bright, but at the cost of clarity. Obviously not my thing. You may feel differently.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

They are fantastic strings highly reccomend, its all in the name Rock n Roll Slinkys.
Just put the strings on my vintage fender mustang, they are great strings. The nickel is much easier on the hands than the material of the regular slinkys.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings sound great. They are warm, yet with the right amount of cut. They work the best imho with single coils. Anyone claiming that they break easy, doesn't have a quality guitar bridge, and/or saddles. Either that or they don't maintain the previously mentioned guitar parts correctly. Sorry, but it's true. They stay in tune great as well.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I needed to change strings to my Gibson SG (120th Anniversary). The strings it came with rusted rather quick and were sounding bad even in that guitar. I swapped them with these and it was like night and day! The strings held pitch and stayed in tune pretty much the first tune up! I've never had that happen before. They feel a lot smother than other brands, and they can take a spirited session with no problem. As time comes to change strings in my other electric guitars, I will be gravitating towards these. It is still too soon to know how they will hold in the long run, but so far they have made a very good first impression, the tones are clear, the tension is optimal, they are smooth and fun to play. Try them yourself, you'll see what' I'm talking about... great price too!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I use Slinkies on all my electric guitars. They're consistent and they have all the gauges and compounds I need. I use these pure nickel type on very bright guitars, like Strats and Teles, the nickel wound 2221s on most everything else, and their cobalt compound on my overwound humbucker guitars. The cobalt gives a little more top and bottom, and balances out the mid-heavyness of an overwound pickup.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

This is my first-time using 2251's. I've always gone with typical, cheap, bright-sounding D'addarios or Ernie Balls, but wanted to give something slightly different a try. I like the somewhat less bright and more smooth tone these strings gave me. I don't know about string life yet, as I've only had them on for a week. I especially like how my middle pickup on my favorite guitar now sounds. It was too bright before, but now I feel like it has a good balance. Will definitely buy another set in the future.

              LOVE EM!!!
My favorite electric strings. Nothing like nickle for Classic Rock, Blues and Country tone. I especially love these for all my single coil and P-90 guitars. They slightly round out some of that single coil spikey-ness. I'll use the Earnie Ball Nickle Warpped for my humbucker guitars which give you great classic tone with a touch more high end than the pure nickles. They are durable and playing feel is great too.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I love these strings! I moved to Ernie Balls a few yrs back..and finally made it to Nickel around the same time. There's just no going back to "regular" strings after you go to Nickel. I gig constantly and change my strings every 5-7 shows...I used to change every 3 shows. The strings play great...the tone is smooth and warm...it really adds something to my Tele and to my Firebird through a Vox AC30..its pure pure heaven to play. The strings last...and they sound GREAT. I will never buy another kind.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2251 Pure Nickel Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

No other string sounds like these on a Strat and I've tried them all. Not overly bright which is perfect. I change strings about every 10 hours of play so I'm not trying to get 2 years out of them. I've never broken one and I stay away from 9's. Great string for a vintage Fender sound; even tone across the board, good blend of bass to treble with no emphasis on any one string.

Price, quality, consistency and overall tone are key and this fulfills all of the requirements. Pure nickel strings sound the best to my ears and these are usually easy to find and cheap and sound better than others I've used.

Put these (10's) on my Strat and they sound and feel great. My new favorite.
