These are the strings that I've dedicated to a Frankenstein Stratesque ax of mine with major pickup/pot mods, and it's an ax I don't EVEN want to hear a semblance whimper of the Strat twang with.
I've been all over the friggin' place and suffered my own ignorance and thought nickle was the same as the "Bright" D'Addarios stainless strings. Wrong.

These are it! Sure D'Addario came close with one set and GHS too, but ya gotta go with these, 'cause mind you can grab a .022 3rd wound to replace the plain 3rd g-string if you're a wound 3rd dude like me. Most stores don't carry singles in anything other than Earnie Ball.

I got lucky and my nut would receive these. But if it hadn't I'd have been off to a guitar Tech 'cause I don't have the Stew Mac file/saws to doctor a nut.

If you've never went the ".11 - .54 route before be prepared for truss rod adjustments.
On top of liking the feel and sound of a wound 3rd, I also appreciate that a wound 3rd tightens to g-note tension easier than a plain 3rd, it really does. Your ax's neck will appreciate it and you'll need less truss rod adjustment.

After a couple of years of playing guitar, i got into metal and hard rock. I wanted to start playing in Drop C like a lot of my favorite bands. So my friend recommended these. for a long time i thought these worked, but after a while of playing and getting more experience, i realized they were really unbalanced. Having a .22p G string is way to thick. At the most, maybe a .19p. and the E, A, and D strings are a little floppy for dropped tunings. Youre better off going with the Not Even Slinky set, but those strings arent balanced that well either, but they will hold up better.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I love the tone of 12s but the more bendable 11s and these strings are a perfect compromise. I'm not a dropped "Z" metal guy. I play everything from Blues, Funk, Oldies, Rockabilly, R&B to Classic and Modern Rock. The heavier the strings, the better the tone. If you can handle heavier strings in standard tuning you will get a great sound. You may not be able to "Shred" on heavy strings but who needs another shredder? These strings have the advantage of feeling "slinkier" than other strings of the same guage! They rock! A few other reviewers describe issues that have everything to do with the particular setup of their guitars and obvious lack of experience, nothing to do with these strings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings have a nice beefy sound to them and they last for quite a while from what I have experienced so far. Great product and works really well with various drop tunings. I only practice with them but they work well to produce the nice hard rock/metal sound I am looking for when I do. I would definitely recommend this product.

I got these strings with intent on having a drop c/b and ocassionally drop d. But the 4th string is garbage, the strings got floppy and i began to hate the set. Then my top string fell off. Buy this set if you have a permanent drop c, but otherwise, forget this set

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I put these on my LP Custom (Epi) and they are amazing. At first I wasn't sure but as I played around with them I saw the nuances in my tone come to life. Better mid range (I saw the most improvement), the lows are still thick and juicy and the highs sing beautifully. I also saw huge improvements with my harmonics (they last forever). The only issue I have is with the intonation which is mostly due on my lack of intonation experience. They take getting used to but I love them.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been using Ernie Ball 10-52s until a friend recommended these to me. Overall, I am quite impressed. As with my taste in music, I usually play in Drop C, B, or A tuning. These strings are perfect for these types of tunings. However, these strings are basically only for dropped tuning. If you attempt to tune to higher tunings, these strings simply do not work. A word of advice, be extremely careful when tuning the strings for the first time. I tried going a little too fast and my low E string snapped. In conclusion, these strings are perfect for heavier music and I strongly recommend them for any fan of metal.

I use these strings in Drop D tuning. They're slightly tight but nothing non-bending or breaking on impact. These strings are perfect for Drop C# and Drop C tuning on a standard scale guitar. They're awesome because they sound.. well... BEEFY!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

Yes these strings are quite possible the best I've ever had. I tend to play fast and destroy strings and to be honest prior to getting Beefy's I hated Ernie Ball because I had strings by them that had broken in 1 day. Most of the time when I get strings they break within 1-2 weeks but these have lasted me 5 months and have gone through 2 recording sessions and yes they are still the only pair of Beefy's I've bought. Great stuff!!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

They do the job, only 'problem' is that the G-string seems to be sitting a little higher than any of the other strings... Maybe it just seems that way since it's a thicker gauge. Either way it doesn't interfere with my playing.
Good strings for tuning down, I tuned down from E-flat standard (10-52's) to D-flat standard (11-54's).
I've been using Ernie Ball strings for years, never had any compaints on them, and these are no exception. The open E-strings sounds REALLY thick, I like it.
Can't really go wrong for the price.

Well, what can I say. They're the best strings I've used so far. I originally used them for Drop C and D standard, but now I use them in E standard. Great tone with them. Deep and bassy while palm muted, but also enough mids and treble.

Ahh these things are quite wonderfully the best strings ive used. They are great for the down low tunings, A, B, and C standard tunings. Took me a little to get used to, then I noticed how they bring my sound to life with a helluva good mid-range and low ends and even ive noticed better high ranges as well. I recommend buying these strings 100%!

Excellent for drop tunings. I tried these for Drop A# on my LTD M-1000 with a Floyd. They sound great, are not loose at all, yet don't feel too heavy. Honestly, perfect gauge for the tuning, as long as the guitar is set up right. I can now play all my favorite In Flames and Darkest Hour songs without sounding out of tune or too loose.

I play in a Modern Country-Southern Rock band. We play everything a half step down. We do Jason Aldean songs that require a drop C# tuning also and these strings are perfect for that. Not floppy at all. Never tried playing in anything lower, but for the C# or D# tuning these strings are the best.
I change my strings after every 2 shows, but I probably could stretch that out to 3-4 shows if I tried.
Only my peace of mind for changing them after 2.
Yes, the G string feels weird at first because it is so heavy, but any professional guitarist will get used to it in no time. I have these on my Telecaster, Les Paul and my PRS.

These strings are perfect, just enough low to handle the situation, yet not enough to mud up and get all flappy, there's a fine with playing low and being muddled up, these strings ride that fence perfect. Best set of strings I've bought.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I'm a hobbyist, 17 years running, and I love playing certain Slayer and Machine Head songs, also that's the tuning of early Black Sabbath records, a few Alice in Chains songs, and this is why I have a C# tuned guitar, which I sometimes go drop B with. I wouldn't recommend these strings for standard D tuning if you're used to 10-46 gauge strings for standard E, though, because they're a little tighter than that even tuned down to C#. Trust me, I know, by neck was setup perfectly for E, but once I started tuning to C# with these strings I could tell my truss rod needed to be tightened a little, and it would require even more at D, so don't trust the recommendations in the description. Great for C# and I imagine they'd be great for C as well, though.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2627 Nickel Beefy Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

perect set, but they work better with a .018 on the G, the .022 is a bit on the heavy side.. wish they would change it out.
