Without a doubt, these are the best strings I've ever used. I play a HSS Stratocaster, and I'd been looking for a bit more punch to my tone than I was getting with Fender or nickel-wound Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys. Tried these babies on a whim, and, while you're paying twice as much for them, they're worth every penny. They bend beautifully, have terrific harmonics, and last way longer than any strings I've ever used(I'm talking, like, six months with daily practice). I did have to adjust my pickups to balance out the new tone, but, overall, I feel like my guitar plays better and sounds better with these strings, compared to their nickel-wound equivilent.

The wound strings sound like a piano! Loud and strident. The unwound strings sound great but slightly overpowered by wound strings. Great feel.

I waited awhile for this string to finally become available. I got my first set last week and strung up one of my Gibson Vs. Right from the start I wasn't that sure whether I would like them or not. In appearance they resemble stainless steel strings, and the way they feel under fret is similar to stainless as well. Their tone is indeed clearer and more articulate, and *maybe* more output in the upper frequencies, but to my ear this tone was more of a shift then a complete boost. I felt the increase in upper mids, and cleaner note production came at a cost of the lower frequencies and overall warmth. Last night at rehearsal I wasn't happy at all with my tone. It was acceptable, but I felt my amp's low end punch had somewhat vanished..and lacked the character it typically has.
I have been a fan of Ernie Ball's RPS slinkys for over twenty years, trying out other strings but always coming back. They just seem to add the finishing touch in NAILING that highly coveted Marshall/Gibson tone that I die for. These strings were a departure from that standard. Finally, their cost is twice the amount of a standard set of Slinkys...
Can you imagine what strings I am getting next?

I absolutely love these strings. They're smooth, sweat resistant, and the cobalt makes them more magnetic, which boosts your output substantially. Will definitely be adding these to my EB vault.
You can't really have too many features on strings, but I love the cobalt outer layer. Somehow the strings feel smoother and I really like the feeling.
They are Ernie Balls. Never had a bad set with them and I don't see me ever having a problem with these wonderful strings.
You can get the regular HS strings for half the price, but I think that these will last you twice as long.

First thing I noticed when playing the guitar unplugged, is these strings are LOUD.
Plugged in they definitely sound and feel bigger. They have a punchy low end. They feel silky smooth to the touch, and they definitely give the guitar more output. Buy them now!
