OVERVIEW

Try the new and improved slinky feel and fat tone.

Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Bass Strings are round-wound for maximum clarity and serious punch. Featuring a combination of Super Slinky and Regular Slinky gauges, the Cobalt Hybrid Slinky set is clearly an improvement on its classic nickel-wound counterpart giving the player increased sustain, clarity and output. In addition, they resist sweat and moisture better and have unmatched flexibility when compared to other nickel wound strings. Cobalt is the most magnetically active string alloy on the planet and attracts the magnets in your pickups more than any other string.

"Ernie Ball Cobalt Bass Strings are the new standard! Bigger, better tone, sustain and volume. Finally a real innovation with strings." - Randy Jackson
"I can't believe how much low end I get out of Ernie Ball Cobalt Bass Strings. Also, the high end is super crisp, seemingly with more definition. Unbelievable." - Dave Larue

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance and long life. Made in the USA.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

Saw these back in February and got a set after watching the Ads and Artist reviews. The Science made sense and I kid you not these are Fantastic. We have a digital board at Church and the difference was there. the Sound guy, Drummer and a couple of the members of the audience made comments about the sound being better.
They are across the board better.
Played a couple times a week sense Feb and in August they are still as good as new so I got 3 more sets for other basses and will be using them till they make something better.
    Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

Wondered in looking for a set of strings, that time again. The clerk at the store suggested these strings. I was a little anxious about it, most due to the price and not knowing exactly what I was getting. I am so glad I picked these strings up! I spent a good hour and a half playing on my bass and not only was the tone amazing but the low end just floored me. For tone these are the best strings I have ever used. And, oddly enough with that much time straight playing they were really easy on my fret fingers, so an added plus.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

I ordered a set of these after doing some research on their sound and reading some reviews on their supposed durability. Put them on and got to tuning the G string and before I even got it tuned up the core broke and the string unwound. Totally bummed out about it.

I will say though that the clarity and sharpness I can get out of the other three I still have is awesome. Hopefully it was just a defective string.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

On an active bass there is no discernible impact to the output, and very little difference in the tone. They sound good, but no better than a typical pack of Ernie Balls that cost almost half the price. I can't comment on longevity yet, but they will have to last twice as long to worth it. Right now, I am not a fan.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

Two strings broke within two weeks. While they lasted they sounded pretty decent to me, but maybe a little too "twangy". All in all, they're OK for practice strings, as long as you go fairly easy on them. Not recommended for slapping or aggressive picking. But I'll still say your best bet is to look elsewhere.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2733 Cobalt Hybrid Slinky Electric Bass Strings:

This is the first time i have ever purchased a set of Ernie Ball strings for my bass. I have had skinny top heavy bottom cobalts on my 6 string for over a year now and they have not broken but somehow my D string broke on me less than two weeks from purchase. Maybe the QC just isn't there for the bass line of Cobalts. I played one show and have done light practicing with them and they broke yesterday while tuning at band practice. To me at 30 a pair this is unacceptable. I truly love the tone. I want these to be part of my sound but I am already ordering replacements. Not happy.

These strings do everything they advertise. The tone is awesome, the sustain is excellent, and they last a long time while maintaining both. I've been using these strings for over a year and have not been disappointed yet.
