I have a Fender Mustang, the strings that came on it were too skinny for me and I wanted something bigger. Because bigger strings = better, bigger tone and a much more solid feel. After I had put Hybrid Slinkies on my bass and set it up it sounded ten times better. These strings have a very smooth feel and sound to them. But one that is bold and musical. These are perfect for what I do. I play all styles worship, punk, ska, just to name a few, they fit perfectly in each of those styles. I have always found Ernie Ball to make a very consistent and quality sounding string. Give em a try on your bass, you will be surprized. I certainly was!

The Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky are one of the worst set of strings you'll ever have the pleasure of spending your cash on. Don't bother with them and do yourself a favor and get some expensive strings. Think of it this way, if you buy $40 Elixers, they last for at least 3-4 months or more depending on how heavy and often you play, you're spending $10 a month on strings. These didn't even last me a full month. I bought them on May 19th, official death, June 16th. Not worth it, get something like Elixers, Blue Steels, or try something else just for the experiance. Fair warning though, skip these and push the extra cash out, it'll be worth it.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:
These are great strings. If buying a new bass that uses these Gauges such as The Squire vintage Modified Jaguar SS or The Epiphone EBO bass please do your self a favor and order these with your new bass and replace the stock strings. These strings will give you a very noticeable improvement in playability and quality sound that brings out the best for your Bass Pickups.

I love these strings to death. they are they only strings I put on my customized fender jazz, to shed some light it has a Kahler bass tremolo on it, and let me tell you, these strings really take a beating, bends, dive bombs, pull ups, squeels (to an extent :p), I practice at least 2 hours a day, have shows once and a while, and give a few lessons here and there, and a set usually lasts 3 or 4 weeks, until the g string breaks, almost always from tremolo work, in the same spot it always does right above the bridge pickup. they feel real slick, but with just enough grip for your fingers to catch properly. I use a 3 finger technique so its important that my fingers dont get caught up. this helps in double thumbing too.these are really bright strings but with a nice fat low end, perfect for funk and rock, allow a good cut, and a good heavy slap with a defined pop, but just a flick of the tone knob they get swoony.I give a 3.5 for value is because I wind up buying a lot of these strings but theres no way I can buy big boxes of them like guitar strings for a small discount and this annoys me.my all time favorite strings, Ill always be a customer!
Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:
I use these strings on my fender p-basses and I think they're fantastic.I used to use super slinky's which if I remember correctly have 80 gauge 'a' and 100 gauge 'e' string. which is an awesome sounding string choice for standard eadg tuning. but I needed something that would give me a little more tonal quality for drop d tuning, which these provide. it's not a huge size difference but I see a little more punch and low end support from my 'e' and 'a', the other two strings are the same size as the supers which I like for the high end ringing tones.sweet strings for drop d.I wouldn't see them as a huge benefit for standard though.as far as longevity goes, these strings will lose their tone after playing them for a while, especially at sweaty gigs, so take your strings off, roll them up and boil them in water for about ten minutes, then wipe them clean until dry. brings that gorgeous tone back for monthshope this helps.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:
These strings sound GREAT! Awesome tone, even when down tuned. very comfortable to play, but the downside is they don't last very long. it's not that they break easily, they just go dull and lose their life after about a month and a half. after about 3 months even the most novice player can tell they need new strings.
Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:
I used Hybrid Slinky strings for years. Earnie Ball and D'adario are pretty much the same string to me. All bass strings are like potato chips, great when you open the bag, but the proof is in the next day. I do have to say these strings stay bright longer then GHS Boomers (junk) and any Dean Merkley I've ever used. The last set I set I got were missing a .65 gauge string-the A string and were dead in less then a week. To rectify this, Earnie Ball sent me a whole new string.I switched to DR, and have been much happier with them. They have been staying brighter then any other string available on the market today.

I use the Ernie Ball Super Slinky bass strings on my Fender Precision and Fender Jazz Basses. I love the sound this strings produce. Great for Classic Rock, Blues, and Boogie. If you are looking for a high-quality string then look no more, buy the Ernie Ball Super Slinky bass strings!

I bought these stings about two months ago amazing. You cant get them for this price anywhere else they may not beat 40$ elixers but for the price these worked very nicely for me.
