If this bass were stolen I would take out an add in the newspapers and say "keep the bass---just give me the strings back". ( I stole that line from Joe Osborn )
I put these on an Ibanez EDC 700 Ergodyne circa 2002 (Ibanez recommends putting the same guage strings on these basses which I guess is due to the thin necks and to avoid warping).
I own several other basses but this is the only one I have this guage strings on and I mut say that after nine years of playing them all the strings still have the same presence as when I put them on.
I only play finger style so they have not been slapped to death and to this day all the strings still ring as true as the day I put them on this bass. On my other basses ( Fenders' and Music Mans') I have tried other brands but the E string always goes dead before the others. Not so with Ernie Ball. With others I was always changing the E after a few gigs and I am yet to do that with any Ernies I have put on.
Nine years and still sound great! What would you say?
I have bought others for more than twice the price and these kill the competition.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2835 Extra Slinky Round Wound Bass Strings:

Before playing bass I always used Ernie Ball on my guitars, both electric and acoustic. I own a Gibson Les Paul (wired like Peter Green) Fender Strat, Fender Tele and a Dean Boca 12 String. I also own 2odd name acoustics along with a Fender Jazz, Epiphone Viola bass and a G&L JB 2 Tribute. I have never used EB strings on a bass. Since I needed to replace the strings on my G&L I decided to try the EB bass string and I'm sure glad I did. Easy to play great tone and the price is hard to beat. I will always use EB on my G&L and will consider them on my Fender Jazz if they have flat wounds. I won't on the Epiphone viola has I only use black nylon wrapped flat wounds on it
(the way Paul did during the LET IT BE days). If you want bass strings that sound great and are so easy to play, get these strings

Comments about Ernie Ball 2835 Extra Slinky Round Wound Bass Strings:

I've used Ernie Ball strings on my guitars for over 40 years. I started playing bass and enjoy it. These strings give me a little more bite in the highs. I'm hoping they're as durable as the guitar strings.

I've been using these strings on all of my basses for close to 40 years now and I'm not about to change. Why? They're consistent in quality, price and value. And they sound sooooo good!

This Strings are the BEST. at first, my ibanez gsr 180 still uses the normal string (the 1st) and when i learned slap, my index and thumb got really panfull even the skin was like, red and i cant play for 3 days. When i changed to this string. Its so light even a kid like me can slap my way. Buy it man, you'll never regret it

I haven't been playing bass for very long, but i broke a string on my carlsbro knock-off precision. i decided 2 change the whole lot because the rest of the strings seemed a bit past their prime time..... so i slapped on some of these and WOW! bright, sparkling sound that brings life and a whole new dimention into your world....All in all, their AMAZING!!
