Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

Got these strings my PRS Mike Mushok baritone. These things bang! So much punch and clarity, deep clean tones, heavy grinding distortion tones, tensions are perfect for the 27.5" scale. I've tuned down to G, plays perfect. The highest I've felt comfortably tuning up was to A# tuning. It played well but the string tension was a little more than I prefer. Standard B-B is fine though. I mainly use these on the baritone for drop A and drop G# tunings.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

These strings are fine. I found the 72 a little frustrating because it didn't fit through my tuning peg. But i just got out my pliers clipped it and started unwinding the outer wrapping a ways, and then it fit in just fine. Nice feeling strings. Sound fine.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

I tried these strings once, a while back... My biggest problem was that the 72 in my opinion is too thick. i play short scale guitars (24.75), and i wanted to tune to B Standard originaly. The 72 wouldnt even fit through my tuning peg at first. Also, the G string (30) was also too thick. at the most it should be a wound 26. Also, all the strings in general were just uncomfortable to play. after a couple of weeks i tried the d'addario baritone set (14-68)and all my problems were solved. plus the d'addarios have a better feel in my opinion and they stay in tune better.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

I've been using these since I bought my PRS Mike Mushok baritone (my favorite guitar I own!) These strings are perfect for this guitar (27.7 inch baritone scale) and the tuning I use in my band which is Drop C with a low G on the bottom (low to high GCGCFA)The tension, for me at least, is perfect and I've no complaints about any strings being too loose or too tight. The only thing I don't like is, well, I'm just not an Ernie Ball fan.. but these strings are convenient in that they are perfect and work great for my tuning so I can't think of any down sides to them. Long lasting and great sounding strings. I highly recommend these strings to anyone wanting to tune to Drop A or lower, any higher and they'll be really tight.

If guitar has a Bigsby strings might not be long enough

Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

I bought these for a Bigsby equipped Gretch Baritone only to find out that the two center strings were about an inch too short. After some fishing around in my stash of regular guitar strings I was able to stumble across a couple of replacements also made by slinky that were the right length. If you plan to put these on a bigsby equipped guitar I'd steer clear. Otherwise, they're great strings.

                pretty good

Comments about Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Electric Guitar String Set:

if you want to experiment with low tunings definatly try these out, i would recomend them to anyone looking for really heavy gauges!
i got these and the elixir baritones for my agile pendulum pro (27-25.5scale), i would have to say they are pretty good out of the box but i did break my 13 (by stupidity not a manufacturing flaw)so i had to replace it. i changed the 13 to a 14, and the 18 to a 22 to balance it more. anyway the 72 is soo big i had to file the nut down to make it fit :/ but now it works perfectly. i have it tuned to drop f# (F# is still kinda floppy)and G# standard most of the time but you could go up even higher like to A standard! the 72 doesnt care how tight it goes!! the tone is great (tight and bright) and they have lasted a while so far. anyway before you buy remember most guitars with standard nuts will have to be filed out a little to fit the 72, soo youve been warned!
                could be better
                best for the price!
