Comments about Ernie Ball 2843 Hybrid Slinky Stainless Steel Bass Strings:

They're cheap, and they sound great. I have yet to find a better string set in that price range. I love 'em.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2843 Hybrid Slinky Stainless Steel Bass Strings:

These strings are less of a "Steel, tough" feel than those of the D'Addario Steel strings, which I have used before. I also like the tone of these better than the D'Addario, they have a little more mids that cut through, I had to level out my EQ more evenly than when I was using the D'Addario's. I have been using these strings for about a month and a half, and they still sound pretty bright.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2843 Hybrid Slinky Stainless Steel Bass Strings:

These are great modern punk/rock/metal strings! They have that great Ampeg tube driven punk tone everyone loves! ( With the right amp obviously) . Mark Hoppus plays these! also they are not flat wounds as somebody stated, they are more of a round wound/hybrid!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2843 Hybrid Slinky Stainless Steel Bass Strings:

I've used several different brands of flatwound strings, and these are high up on the list as far as smoothness and playability. They also have about the best tone of any of the flatwound strings I've used in the past. They give a nice, consistent, full range of tone and would sound great on any fretless or fretted bass.
