M-Steel Super Slinky Electric Guitar Strings are made of M-Steel, short for Maraging Steel, a superalloy used in high-stress applications for the aerospace and defense industries. The wound strings are comprised of a patented Super Cobalt alloy wrapped around a Maraging Steel hex core wire, producing a richer and fuller tone with powerful low-end response. M-Steel plain strings are comprised of a specially tempered steel for maximum fatigue resistance. A patented winding of steel around the ball end of the plain strings reduces slippage, breakage and stays in tune better than conventional plain strings. Super Slinkys are one of the most popular gauge combination preferences by guitar players.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2923 M-Steel Super Slinky Electric Guitar Strings - Buy 10, Get 2 FREE:
First I don't understand why Musician's Friend thinks I'm a photographer, but alas.
I normally play Super Slinkies and these are the same strings, but wanted to see how these are better and more durable. I believe in Ernie Ball products so went for it. So far I don't feel they are worth paying 3x the amount for. They are great strings, so are the regulars. They may be usable longer (haven't seen that yet, but at a guaranteed 60 days, that is not worth 3x the price)
I play all of my 12 guitars regularly, and needed new strings, so bought the 12 for the price of 10 pack. We'll see how they end up. If they surprise me down the road, I will do an update to my review, but for now not worth the extra $$$
