ernie ball not even slinky guitar strings are great. i play alot of metal and hard music so i dont play alot of standard tuning playing so i use these. there great for playing in dropped tunings. me for example:i play in Drop A most of the time so if i ever wanted to go from a 2 another tuneing ernie ball not even slinky guitar strings do the job great. and there really durable strings so they last a long time.longer lasting strings = more play time =].also if you buy and like these strings try ernie ball skinny top heavy bottom.
I switched to 'not even slinky' ernie ball strings after years of failing to get a stevie ray vaughn and hendrix type of sound. Even after all the amp. stacks and effect boxes and my vintage stratocater that those guys used, my riffs (their riffs being played by me) still sounded like a somewhat faint shadow. It was the strings man! These strings feel like piano cables compaired to the the light and medium strings most guys are using now. You can hit the notes HARD. If your licks sound tiny, try these strings out. Get ready to learn bending vibrato all over again, these strings will expose any weakness in your wrist and fingers. It's tough at first but I have found it well worth it. Now when I do pick on a quitar with the normal gauge strings on them, my vibatos are unreal. Buy these strings, take the blisters and you will be glad you did.
oh man these strings are great for players who like to play in drop-d tunning seriously im a big tool fan and i play in drop-d every single time i play and these are incredible! they sounds good last a long time and feel great! they are also good for bending! buy these they will pay off!
These strings are perfect for drop-c tuning. I get a punchy sound out of them and I love it! They are also still very tight and keeps the right tension on the neck! Believe me, correct tension on the neck is important!I recommend for those who also play in drop-c!
I just want to say l love Ernie Ball for making strings this heavy. I checked all the other brands and i couldn't find any who had strings with gauges as heavy as the Not Even Slinkys. Just so you guys know, fatter strings = fatter tone. If you want to get the most tone possible out of your guitar and don't care about shredding, these strings are for you.
i used these on my guitars for about 5 months and i liked em alot because they were sturdy and they dont go out of tune very fast its really good strings for the song as i am by dream theater, but the only thing is, is that they didnt last very long and they were almost to bassy and hard to push down so i thought it would be the action on my guitar but i lowered it and still they were to hard to use so i switched to reg. slinky's which i like alot better now, it just depends on what type of music if your goin for blues or jazz id use these because they have great tone to em but i wouldnt use them if you like to "shred"
