Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
I play blues and blues rock, and my go-to strings are the Ernie Ball Classic Nickel Rock n Roll (10-46's). I rarely break a string but, (as is the case with any other brand of strings I've tried), my top 3 strings wear out (their tone becomes dull, they fail to tune / intonate properly, and lose their feel) faster than the bottom 3. So I usually pull off the top 3 and replace them once before replacing the entire set. These plain steel strings, which are direct replacements for the plain steel (10 - 13 - 17) strings included in the Classic Nickel sets, are ideal for this purpose. They tune up, intontate, and stay in tune well, have good clear tone, and have a very supple feel to them. They are widely available and, purchased in 6 packs, are a good value as well.

Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
Those of you who break strings before even getting them up to pitch need to go to a good instrument repair tech and learn how to restring. I play and repair instruments and use Ernie Ball strings with wonderful results.
Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
I like the strings, but don't love the price. Like anything that you buy often, you always want a cheaper price. But this isn't anything major to complain about.
Ernie Balls are my strings of choice for electric guitars. Martin SP's for my acoustic guitars. As long as I get the right guages, I know I'll be pleased.
Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
Had purchased a few packs of strings and had the high E string snap on me twice...
Normally I would go out and buy another pack just for the one string but now
that I can purchase a pack of single strings I'm set!
Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
This was my go to string pack. I just used 4 strings in a row. the fist and last I put on unwound at the bridge before I even got it in tune! The other two lasted a few seconds of playing. If this was a gig it would be a massive FAILURE. Hope its just my pack.
Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
I recommend that anyone who plays guitar a lot buy extra high E strings and B strings since they tend to break the most. I have a 2-pack of whole string Ernie ball string sets, but if the high E and the B strings break the most, I'd better think about buying a 6-pack of each of those single strings.
Comments about Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String:
Most of the top pro musicians use Ernie Ball and it is obvious why. They are the best and last the longest. I use the same set-up as David Gilmour, gauge wise 10, 12, 16, 28, 38 & 50. You can not buy those strings in a set. He uses Gibson which I have not been able to find in individual strings. Try this set-up on your guitar and you will know why he does.
