Ernie Ball

Put on your guitar strap with security and ease.

Ernie Ball Super Locks feature a push-button, quick-release design to provide a safe, complete 360-degree secure connection that keeps your guitar or other instrument close at hand. Ernie Ball mechanically engineered these guitar strap locks to ensure ultimate instrument protection. Positive locking pins ensure that the locks will not release until the buttons are completely depressed. The contoured design prevents accidental release. All Ernie Ball Super Locks are casehardened and steel-plated, making for the most robust and rust-resistant strap lock on the market. Securely fastening buttons mean that Super Locks can accommodate straps without their own locking mechanisms as well. Each guitar strap lock easily installs without any instrument modifications whatsoever.

Terrible locks, buy Schaller instead.

Features:

The locking mechanism is flawed and wears out after a few months of normal use.

Quality:

After the mechanism wears out, these are useless.

Value:

Twenty dollars to re-drill a hole in my guitar and have the strap fall off repeatedly for a few months.

Overall:

These strap locks are awful. First and foremost, you will have to re-drill the holes in your guitar to fit these. Even if the screws LOOK the same size, they will break when you try to screw them in and Ernie Ball will delete your facebook comments about it. Then, after only about a month with them on, the top one popped off while I was on stage. Luckily it was during the last song of our set and I could finish playing crouching down with the guitar on my knee. Not ideal. I tested it out after the show, and it seemed ok so I figured it was just a fluke. Wrong! Happened again at the next show, this time during a solo! I didn't have money to buy a replacement lock at the moment, and so it happened again and again and again in the studio. I finally got Schaller locks and not only are they usually a few bucks cheaper, but the design is 100 times better. They have a cup positioned underneath, so even if your lock disengages your guitar will not fall. I would highly recommend them. You also do not have to re-drill the hole to install them.

I truly feel that everyone else posting good reviews is either a plant by Ernie Ball or someone who has only had the locks for like a week.

Lock-n-Roll!

A very high quality strap lock. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Why would you put cheap accessories on an expensive guitar?

One word of caution: Make sure the pin is positvely engaged into the center of the guitar mounted strap button whenever you attach your strap to your guitar. I always give a tug on each end of the strap just to make sure. That being said, this is a great product.

BEST STRAP LOCKS OUT THERE!!!

Features:

I have been playing guitar and bass guitar for the last 16 years or so and these are by far the best strap lock i have ever used, and i have tried out quite a few. If these can hold up my extremely heavy fender jazz bass while i am playing and moving around and what not they can hold any guitar or  bass out there. Easy to install and easy to lock and unlock if you are  switching guitars or basses while playing a show. Good stuff!!!  =)

Great Strap Locks

I have some Schaller Strap Locks that I bought locally for some of my other guitars, but the Ernies are much cooler. They stand the strap away from the body more because the lock goes into the little peg, rather than around it. The release is secure and solid, and they don't stick up above the strap like the release knobs on the Schallers. Overall, a much slicker style of Strap Lock.

Loved them until one of them broke

| Review By: Bruce Allen-Eb70_ | 3 months, 1 week ago

Features:

Just got back from practice at my church where one of my 4 month old Super Locks broke.

The one lock just literally came apart while I was playing almost sending my Stratocaster to the floor.  The problem wasn't that the lock wasn't tightened to the strap enough.  The problem was that the housing around the lock literally separated.  I pieced it back together but to no avail. These are way too unreliable to ever trust with my guitar again.
