OVERVIEW

For deep tones free of excess ring.

Evans broke new ground by developing the EC2 batter head, which removes unwanted overtones, focuses pitch, and enhances attack without inhibiting the dynamic range as other damped heads do. Rolls around the toms spread in clean intervals; floor toms groan with presence. The EC2 features an "Edge-Control" ring mounted underneath two plies of 7mil film. By controlling, instead of eliminating, edge vibration, the ring isolates and damps higher overtones, enhancing low-end and attack, and enabling a broader tuning range.

I started using these drum heads about a year and a half ago. I would never go back to anything I have ever used. They give me the pitch and over all tone that I want in my drums. They have the high-end snap for an aggressive attack and a very nice, warm resonant sound for great tone. The durability of these heads is truly amazing. I have broken so many pinstripes it's not even funny. have never broken one of these and I hit'em hard. I would recommend these drum heads to anyone. They can make any kit sound great.

They sound alright. I've got a 14" floor tom and the EC2's give it a nice low end, but also a more plasticy sound, and I'm also having a hard time getting a good sustain from my 12"- frustrating. Not as versatile as the G2's, and more pricey, I'll likely be going back to the G2's.

I purchased these heads from ebay and I also purchased a 13" from Musicians Friend. I own a 7pc Mapex and it makes my drum set sound like a million bucks. I would recommend this to any drummer. Especially the beginners. I still use the remo heads for my snare. I haven't tried the general heads from Evans yet. Keep on drummin'. Good job Evans!

Ask me a question

I just bought these heads from the local music store where I live and, man, are they awesome! They give you just the right amount of ring without the overtones, just as described! I put these on the PDP Z5 drumset I bought and now it's sounding like a high-end drumset! I recommend these hands down!

possibly the best

I've tried a lot of heads. I am not a heavy hitter but by no means am I a light hitter. these are perfect. I slapped them on some maple drums and they are awesome. The snare chokes out a lot of the ring, which I don't like. but the toms sound incredible. My only problem is my 10in is really choked with these toms. I would suggest getting something else for the 10in and use these on the 12in and 14in. My two cents worth.

I've had many heads in my career and these are by far the best heads I have ever had! Evans makes great heads but these top them all. Sound great on maple drums. I have a set of Gretsch drums and they sound wonderful! Invest in these heads, their really worth it. A snare head good with these heads is Genera dry.

EC2 Fusion Pack

By Emagdnim333

I put these on my Tama set and they sounded great. I switched from remos and I prefer these hands down. It definitely took some time to get them tuned in, but once it did they sounded great. The 14 does have some unwanted overtone but the rack toms sound amazing.

I can honestly say these brought life back into my 20 year old set. These are probably the best investment I've put into my set so far. Nice job, Evens.

Pretty Bad

By RacTom

from New York

I got these for my drums (PDP FS) They sound like thick stock heads. The 14" sounds decent but the 10 and 12 give my toms too much overtone, I thought thats what the little metal rims were for... I dont advise you to get these but maybe it's just me..I dont like em
