I bought this pack for my Mapex V-series 7piece (adding another head to my 10" rack tom and already having one G2 head as it was) and I am blown away at the sound I have coming from my kit. I feel I am not the best at tuning drums, and find it difficult to get a sound I am satisfied with, but with this pack it took only a few moments for each drum. The bass head in itself is absolutely remarkable, and in short is my favorite head I have ever purchased.

Pick these up. You won't be disappointed...and if you are, you're doing it wrong.

the emad bass head is beautiful but i am going to throw the rest of these heads in the garbage. the 'st dry' snare has a totally different sound than my evans powerstroke and i hate it. i play reggae rock so i tune my snare real tight and the 'dry' has the most annoying overtone ring. no matter how i tuned the g2 toms they always sounded like those heads you get on your drums when you just bought them, you know those fake heads that are just for show. i am so disappointed. i love the evan standard pack though.

Good heads, great sound, but much louder than I expected. Forced our band practices to raise the decibal a little bit. If you are a heavy handed drummer, you might take notice.

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

So these arrived a couple of weeks back and i just put them on my kit and i have to say they are the best sounding drums heads I have used to this day. I have heard DW drums with these heads on and they just sound out of this world. I dare say my kit sounds almost or just as good as a DW with Evans Heads now. These heads are amazing that i will not consider buying any other heads except for Evans. Totally worth every penny i spent on them.

Makes toms sound high & weak

By Laurluv

from Norwalk, CT

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

I have a 10-year-old Pearl Export kit. Had Remo pinstripes that sounded good but were worn and I saw these and figured I'd give them a shot because I do like the snare head that comes in the package. The tom heads sounded horrendous--very high with a bad ring. They are clearly not meant for larger, deeper toms. I put the pinstripes back on and am considering trying these as bottom heads so my money is not wasted. Very disappointed with this product.

Great Set of Heads!

By No Boundriez

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Great sounding double ply heads. I played them once and decided i had to get me a set. Kick head is GREAT! My Pearl Export has a nicer kick than most of the other drumsets i play on. Great deep kick sound if tuned right and tom heads are beautiful. Also, when tuned loose, the toms have a very deep and powerful tone. MUST HAVE!!!!!

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Just got these heads yesterday and they're amazing. I'm bad at tuning, but I got these heads to sound amazing in no time, very durable too. I hit hard and played with them for 2 hours so far and no marks. Didn't care for the snare head, but like Is aid I'm not good at tuning, def. recommend this set for anyone.

Emad Kick/ G2 Tom (Batter Heads)

By Derek Miller

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

The Emad has a nice Deep Solid Kick that you can change with the supplied rings. The head is a single ply, but a thick .mill. It comes w/ a reninforcment pad. G2 tom batter heads are a nice 2 ply that will not dent unless you abuse them. Evans make the most relilable heads in my opinion.

EMAD, G2, Genera STD

By Berklee drummer

from NJ

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Hands down, the EMAD is the best bass system to come out. My kick has never sounded so good, especially with no extra internal muffling. The G2's make my toms sing. Easy to tune, and excellent tones. The STD snare head is sensitive and the really brings out overtones that are usually muffled by other heads. Evans is definitely the way to go.

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

I really like how you can get this quality of a pack of heads for so cheap, but the kick drum head concerns me a bit. I thought that the purpose of the oversized dampening ring was to eliminate the use for a pillow, but even with the large ring on the beater side, and the small ring taped to the resonant side, my bass drum still sounds overly boomy. It does sound very kool and can fill a room easily, but it lacks attack in my opinion. If you buy this, just be ready to continue using a pillow in your bass drum.

EVANS: The Way To Go

By Iron Cobra Man

from Minot, ND

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

The Evans pack is really the way to go, especially for the price. I have just a CB set, but I never knew my bass drum could sound so deep and I never knew my snare could sound so good also. At our local music shop, they wanted dollars- just for the bass head! So this is definitely a great buy!

GOOD HEADS BUT THE BASS

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

I have the pdp ez series drumset, once I got dents in the stock heads i replaced them with these. I'm very glad I did so, however, the bass head just doesn't give me the sound I want, although it may just be my set isn't very good. The snare is good and durable. The tom heads are great, they sound great, and will should last you a long time. Overall I would say to buy these and then replace the bass head with either the eq3 batter or the aquarian super kick II drumhead. Hope that helps.

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

I could not be more pleased with these Evans heads--they are the only drum heads I have used aside from the standard Yamaha heads that came with my drum set, and the difference in sound quality is absolutely astounding. They give my playing a whole new quality and charm.

Pretty good

By Anonymous

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Let's just start with the snare head. Pretty good, kind of a ring to it, but it blends in nicely. Tom heads. This is why I gave it a 4.5. They are good heads, but they have too much of a ring to them. That was easily fixed w/ some Aquarian rings, but they could've been less "ringy." Now the best for last. The bass head is by far the best I've ever played on. Awesome, focused, fat sound. Sounds great.

The first time I tried these heads, I almost screamed. I wanted them so bad. The tone that eminated from these heads was rich and colorful. Buy these and you will never be disappointed. I'm going to, and my set will sound so much better.

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Replaced the stock heads on my new Ludwig Epics with these and in a word - WOW! The tone and "focus" of each drum is vastly improved. The toms now have a defined "note"-much less muddy than before. The snare is much the same. But the EMAD on the kick, simply awesome. Lowered the pitch, reduced the overtones, in short my kicksounds great! I bought Evans EC clear resonant heads for the toms which has added to the improvement. Buy these - you won't be disappointed!

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

I just had Remos and they were ok. But once i hooked these babies up to my set, A beautiful sound came out of my piece of crap drums. The kick especially feels great and sounds awesome. I'm glad i made this great choice and you should too. If you're looking for that professional sounding drumset you should definitely try these for yourself, and not to mention the amazing price. Evans is the way to go!

The G2 toms sound horrible.

By Eric-1VPGr

from Illinois

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

First off, the EMAD bass head sounds great. I absolutely love it. The SD snare head is also pretty good. But I'm unfortunately completely disappointed with the G2 tom heads. They sound too high pitched and just sound cheap. I can't get them tuned right the way I want them. The floor tom sounds nothing like a floor tom should. It's too high pitched. But if you try to make it sound lower, it becomes too loose. I have the same problem with the middle tom. It's too high pitched and I can't make it any lower. It's also very difficult to fine-tune the sound of the heads. They just sound cheap, and they're impossible to be tuned right. But, like I said, the bass drum head and the snare head are really good. If you can find those separately, I would recommend them.

Bass head sounds amazing

By Fallin God

from Brainerd, MN

Comments about Evans EMAD 5-Piece Drumhead Pack Standard:

Awsome sounding heads. The bass head has the best sound I've heard from a head (I use the thicker ring.) I put this on my Pearl Forum set and it made it sound like the day i got it, Except for the bass, Evans made is sound better! I can get a whole range of tones from my toms. My floor tom is a little resricted to a high sound than I want. The only problem with this would be the snare head, Its the worst, I put it on at first and it was ok but then a week went buy and I started to see a wrinkle, one more week went buy I now I had three wrinkles, today my snare sounds like S***. This pack is a good deal considering that my local muscians shop would charge me 30 bucks for a bass head that sounded like crap. If you never used this Bass head before get the pack you save tons of money and its always good to have extra head on hand, even if the snare will only last a week.
